Pros
Adecco is filled with amazing people, many of whom are committed to their work. There is a collaborative atmosphere and everyone is quite social.
Cons
The company doesn't look after people. The turnover rate is incredibly high and the culture of the company is next to non existent.
Advice to Senior Management
Start looking beyond the short term gains and start looking after the people you have. Develop more training and service offerings for your clients.
Pros
Clear target, transparent communication channel, encourage staff to have better work and better life, non-stop learning, better annual leave days, company outings
Cons
It's ver competitive within peers. Pressures around you... KPI driven and sales driven, need to have clear head, warm heart, and busy hands to deal with everyday operations
Advice to Senior Management
Just a little bit more human touch for the employees. It's a sales driven and human related business, sometimes it's difficult to work balanced in between.
Pros
I loved the flexibility of management towards my work schedule. My job afforded me the opportunity to do what I wanted, when I wanted to do it. There were no limits placed on my schedule, and because I was hourly (also a plus if you don't mind longer work hours) I was rewarded for working overtime.
Cons
Adecco offers subpar health insurance and 401k options that are not tailored to local needs. I had a good manager who provided additional options for local (in-network) health insurance, but it was not paid for by Adecco.
I would not recommend working for Adecco if you want for job security. There is no transparency between what Adecco is being paid by the vendor and what it is is paying its contractors. Suddenly having a week of "unpaid mandatory time-off" because of budget constraints can leave one wondering where all of the money is going.
There are not many paid vacations. Our paid time off was totally taken away during the economic downturn, and had not been fully reinstated at the time that I left.
Contractors are often viewed as competitors by regular employees.
Advice to Senior Management
Reimburse contractors for part of their individual health insurance plans, allowing them to select an insurance company that is in their local area. This will also present the opportunity to help manage ballooning health care costs.
Pros
large company and benefits to match.
Cons
extremely poor management and people leaving everyday. no progress options, very poor bonus scheme, bottom feeder agency with adecreasing reputation in the industry.
Advice to Senior Management
leave and let someone with half a brain takeover.
Pros
The pay was quite good.
Cons
No benefits to speak of.
Placement was haphazard.
No advancement within Adecco.
Very limited chance of temp to hire in the placement at Corning.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat people like you would want to be treated at your job and you'll keep good employees longer.
Pros
It's a big company with lots of opportunities
Cons
Lots of people, which inevitably means a mix of great people and some mediocre people
Advice to Senior Management
Make sure compensation is aligned with expectations and that you're not losing talent to higher-paying competition.
Pros
the chance to work at Adecco will give a chance to get more and better opportunities to me, I think.
Cons
the salary is not enough, I think. and the system is not enough, I think.
and salary system is also not enough, I think.
Advice to Senior Management
I do not want to tell to Adecco because they can handle these and solve these problems, I think that.
Pros
Our comp time is amazing; one will start with 18 days of PTO. The flexibility and freedom are great. The people I work with are awesome. The work we do every day, by providing people with jobs is very satisfying.
Cons
There is very little opportunity for advancement because people don't leave Adecco.
Advice to Senior Management
Promote from within. Don't hire VP's from the outside, as this is very discouraging for those of us who have been around for a long, long time and wish to be promoted.
