Pros
Adobe is a good pay master and the bonus they offer is extremely good and better than several other companies in the bay area.
Cons
Some of the organizations within Adobe do not work well with others. They need to let go their personal interest and focus on company goals.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to your employees and do not elevate individuals internally to a high level unless they have the necessary domain expertise and have held senior roles else it is going to be a disaster.
Pros
Smart people.
Good locations.
Office space in San Jose.
Cons
Cubical in SF office.
Management doesn't know what to do, followers not leaders.
HR would push you to quit if they can, yes, I took some time off because of family issue, when I came back, I was pushed to quit. Happy to leave.
Advice to Senior Management
Be leaders, now you are doing nothing to the world.
Pros
Great Downtown San Jose location.
Lots of Parking
Lots of Time Off.
Work environment is great.
Eacy access to technology
Cons
Poor senior management , changes directions every few months.
Annual Layoffs talented folks gare demoralizing. Seems like there is the threat to your job every year.
Performance reviews are rather superficial.
Advice to Senior Management
Stop celebrating just strategies. Your strategies change every few months.
Respect the existing employees instead of just making the employees through acquisition happy.
Pros
Has good technical talent and good low-mid level management. Policies are generally employee friendly, has good work life balance. There were decent technical challenges.
Cons
Adobe is a company in transition and faces significant challenges on the growth front. They culled couple of platforms, Flash and LiveCycle recently. As a result of these changes most of the work happening in India seems to be in maintenance. A lot of good technical talent seems to just linger around without definitive purpose.
Pros
Flexible working
Great culture
Nice people
Excellent benefits
Cons
No growth opportunities
Constant strategy changes
Performance reviews are irrelevant
Advice to Senior Management
Buy or Sell - need to buy a great new company or sell to Apple
Pros
Digital Media and Digital Marketing is a great space to be in right now due to high demand for this service and products. The company revenue is growing and earnings are in positive territory.
Cons
Every November, end of fiscal year, there are usually layoffs. This causes a lot of stress for most folks.
Advice to Senior Management
Provide more career advancement opportunities for individual contributors
Pros
Work life balance. Leadership in the industry. Resources and support. Company invests heavily in keeping workers abreast of products and works to grow synergies through acquisitions.
Cons
Teams work across broad geo locations which can be challenging. Performance reviews are rather superficial. You won't really know if the quality of your work is any better than satisfactory or not.
Pros
Good work life balance. Making cool products that help creative people realize their dreams. Decent compensation. Smart, honest, hardworking coworkers. Freedom to run my business as I see fit.
Cons
Complicated internal politics. Strategy changes every year. Becoming more focussed on wall street and quarterly results than our customers and business.
Pros
- Neat products - look great - customers like them
- Semi-Flexible hours
- Great salary - commisions just ok
Cons
- Poor senior management (change directions every few months - terrible)
- Poor product quality - terrible bugs still in the product after 5 years
- Layoffs every year - talented folks get let go while lazy political types stay on - well documented
- Adobe is in a nosedive in terms of direction - poor place for secure career
- Vacation policy is directed by each manager - terrible execution
- Get ready for a layoff about a year after you join! Fun Stuff!
Advice to Senior Management
- Quit the lack of direction and switching direction every few months!
- Learn what products you have and learn what value they bring the market before eliminating them
- Talk to your customers - not other execs - ask customers about product quality and how bad it is
- Stop these constant hire a ton of people then 6 months later layoff a ton - very disruptive
- Stop the four letter word usage in major sales meetings by execs - very childish - very unprofessional
- Stop making the acquired company the new management - wow what a mess every time!
- Eliminate the crazy vacation policy which allows each manager to decide how much you get - terribly unfair and poorly handled at the local level
Pros
Great PAY, and time off.
Location and parking
Cons
Performance reviews are rather superficial! Your reviews to managers are ignored!
Need to keep it professional with directors and managers.
Poor management leadership!
Laid off great workers and kept the "friends" of managers on board. UNFAIR
Advice to Senior Management
Keep personal issues at home, stop hiring only your friends and laying off hard workers.
