Pros
flexible work hours. friendly working environment. competitive pay. good reputation and sense of proud to work in.
Cons
Frequent layoffs. Internal transfer is hard. Remote location of senior management make it hard to get promotion and recognition. Offshore pressures.
Advice to Senior Management
Make a genuin effort to help employee grow. Allow time to pick up new skills.
Pros
Creative products, financially strong, good benefits
Cons
Lack of career opportunities if not aligned with the right people, systems are cumbersome
Advice to Senior Management
Be truly authentic, not just speaking the words
Pros
Great benefits, you rarely get blind-sided, good salary, fun products
Cons
hard to move up, most people move laterally. Not growing. outsourcing to India a lot.
Advice to Senior Management
Just because certain managers are vocal and highly visible doesn't make them good managers.
Pros
I enjoyed coming to work at Adobe everyday because of the comaraderie and the people I worked with (for which I still remain true friends today.) The people are innovative and smart. The benefits are top notch and the salaries are on the high-side of the scale.
Cons
Following the Omniture aquisition, the company became very top-heavy and there were so many levels and managers, it was very difficult to actually get work done and make an impact on the bottom-line. Additionally, a very "process" heavy organization.
Pros
This is the best place I have worked. It's a fun, innovative, respectful culture. Some days, I am having so much fun that I can't believe I'm getting paid to work here.
Cons
I cannot think of any major negatives to Adobe. Dealing with the IT department overseas has been the only frustrating aspect of the job.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep up the great work! I enjoy the open culture and the fostering of excellence and innovation, starting from the very top.
Pros
Best place to learn about product manager
Cons
training might be useful.
Internship is too short.
Advice to Senior Management
Interns needs more visibility.
Pros
Great place to work if you're in it for the long haul
Great benefits
Amicable work environment
Flexible schedules
Managers are real nice people
Co-workers are genuinely interested in helping you out
Lot of opportunities to learn and grow via trainings
Cons
Managers seem to lack decision making powers about the future of their product, and the few who wield the power don't seem to be very coherent.
Climbing up the ladder will take very long, no matter how amazing you are. It's become one of those companies where every employee (as long as you are not one of the worst performing employees) gets promoted every so often. And when you're performing really good and still don't get promoted, the reason you get is that senior management doesn't want a lot of people moving towards the top so fast!
No matter what the HR says, the salaries are not better than most companies in the area. They are towards the lower end of the spectrum.
Advice to Senior Management
You need to get your act straight. Focus on a small number of products but make them *really* worthwhile. Don't keep changing your minds too often. Not only does it confuse and annoy your customers, but also your employees.
Pros
Lots of different types of interaction. Good benefits (especially for Utah), some good people to work with, little to no stress, great hours, easy, safe, and consistent job
Cons
Very little measurement of impact, very cliquish and very much about time spent and not impact to company. Very political and dysfunctional between groups. More politics then most places i have dealt with. Very much an old boys network, especially if you are not from the area.
Advice to Senior Management
The culture in Utah is not like anywhere else and it shows in the results
Pros
Free Starbucks coffee, candy, sodas, filtered water in all break rooms. 4 week sabbatical every 5 years for all employees.
Cons
My organization has no documented processes, procedures or templates. Information is very hard to find and is put out in various systems based on individual preferences. Attempts to normalize processes or procedures are not supported by individuals or management. Consistent poor feedback based on measurable actions is not acted upon.
Advice to Senior Management
Take action on key managers who receive consistent poor reviews from peers and others rather than let a poor manager drive productivity and morale down for entire teams.
Pros
- Good people. So work is enjoyable
- Competitive Salary. Company pays good. However, one need to put in lot of extra hours
Cons
- Lot of Bureaucracy .
- Senior Management does not work well together
- Expectation is to work on weekends
