Pros
leading edge technology with great people
Cons
Lots of churn during product release
Advice to Senior Management
Focus on quality rather than the next shiney new toy
Pros
- there can be opportunities for innovation
- pay scale is very good
- benefits are very good
- there is flexibility in work locations - some employees work from remote offices
Cons
- innovation doesn't seem to get the same support it used to
- ideas come from the top down
- like many large hi-tech firms legacy products are being offshored to India and China creating a nervous atmosphere in North America
- majority ownership are financial instiitutions - and that seems to be who is running the company
Advice to Senior Management
- find a way to bring back some sense of belonging to the masses
- 35% profit has to be enough to say no to layoffs
Pros
Great compensation, smart people, awesome products. Adobe is known for its high quality products and it is a source of pride for all of us to be associated with "the best".
Cons
Bureaucracy and way too many processes. Adobe has too many people in the organization who do not contribute to the bottom line, and spend a lot of their working hours coming up with ways to slow down the rest of us. This is probably common at any company that is growing rapidly and trying to do so gracefully.
Advice to Senior Management
Streamline the company's processes, outsource business functions such as legal and recruiting and focus more attention on the huge enterprise software opportunity it has.
Pros
Adobe provides an opportunity to be on the cutting edge of innovation. I've never worked for an employer who provides so many ways to grow professionally and academically. There are industry leaders in every part of the company to learn from. Adobe has always helped me to achieve my own academic goals as well with the many programs and funding available for training purposes.
Cons
The hours can be demanding, and things move very quickly so there can be some very aggressive deadlines at times.
Advice to Senior Management
You may not be as accessible as you think you might be. Sometimes it helps if you reach out for feedback. When you receive it, communicate your plan of action resulting from that feedback.
