I have been working at Adobe Systems India full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Right place for campus-hires to "just start" the career.

Dream place for mid level mgmt. Refine your political skills.

Because of the politics in upper and mid management, one product is built by 10 different teams under 10 different names in different locations. Everyone stays employed until buyers realize all products do the same thing.

Management take things personally. Best thing to do *something* if it is your last day :)

Great community inside. Nepotism among people of same state, castes and surname can be enjoyed. You just got to find your people.

It is a fun place to work! The more you stay the more you get to enjoy.

    Cons

It is still a half product company.
No plans revealed to open call centers and bpo.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upper and mid level management requires educated and fresh minds.

I have been working at Adobe Systems India full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    1. Colleagues are usually all from tier 1 colleges or from peer companies. There are always lots of discussions on puzzles, coding challenges & hackathons.
    2. Pay is OK when compared to product companies. Stock options are good, plus Employee stock purchase plans are also available.
    3. Work is very interesting. You get to work on industry leading products. Really like the way Adobe encourages its employees to connect with customers directly & learn how they are using Adobe's products.
    4. Team is encouraged to learn new programming skills & design practices.
    5. Buffet lunch, snacks, soft drinks, etc are provided free of cost.

    Cons

    1. Depending on the team, work-life balance can be a bit screwed sometimes.
    2. Huge huge difference between pay of developers vs. quality engineers. Companies which are of Adobe's stature usually pay near-about or equal to Devs & QEs.
    3. Peer programming opportunities are less.

    Pros

Good work life balance, good environment, handsome salary, good people.

    Cons

Things depend on manager and team. Sometimes, things can be very annoying and intolerable

I have been working at Adobe Systems India full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    * Awesome work culture. Everyone is very helpful. HR are gr8
    * People are fun loving from top to bottom. Managers are friendly
    * Low work pressures
    * Work will be good if you are in a good team. You can apply patents and innovation is present.
    * Great compensation in Dev. Only MS, Google, Amazon, startups can beat it.
    * Delhi NCR
    * Best looking crowd with great density ( ;) ), compared to most of the tech majors(MS/Google/Amazon)

    Cons

    * Middle level managers have service company mentality wanting to please their masters from US.
    * No work means no learning and politics if you are stuck in wrong team.
    * Not much vertical growth because most employees dont leave.
    * US trips are rare and involve lot of politics
    * Useless stress on Patents (specific to India ) and managers will actually tell you to even fake them to file one. This is because you get money and managers get credit if team files patents. No wonder ex-cto(Kevin) even pointed out that most of patents from India are useless for company.
    * If in wrong team, you may end up working on techs which are outdated
    * Very few IITians stay in the company because of quality of work.
    * Company lacks clear direction & most of the products it creates are shut down in few years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

With Cloud probably better opportunities will be created. Company need to have direction else it will turn into a oracle, cisco. Indian management needs to stop using the word Innovation whenever they come on stage and start talking real sense for what will be best for company. Just faking innovation will not take company long.

    Intern

I have been working at Adobe Systems India

    Pros

Since it was a 3 month intern, I don't know much about the general trend of working there. But in general, the intern was awesome. It was almost like a mini-PhD and the people there were very willing to help. The work was well received and we received quite a bit of encouragement on the entire thing.

    Cons

I actually don't have any complaints for the 3 month period.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Awesome work. Maybe the interns could be given some information before hand for them to read up.
