Current Employee – been working at Advance Auto Parts
Pros – Chance to build a career in retail that is not like a career in "retail"Product knowledge is rewarded and recognized
Cons – Since becoming a public company (through a merger/takeover of Discount Auto Parts) , this company has trashed its culture of teamwork ,individual respect and career satisfaction. It is now run by and for Wall Street. The bean counters are in control.
Advice to Senior Management – The point of contact with the customer IS the company. The top performers should be exalted and rewarded. Communication has frayed because of a fast track growth strategy.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

Current Employee – been working at Advance Auto Parts
Pros – Your ability to meet new people who enjoy the same things you do.
I cant think of anything else positive about this company.
Cons – Hours are horrible
They dont care about you
Dont expect any raises if you are in management. They will tell you, well, we bring in new RPPs at $18,000 a year and you make alittle more then that, so you dont get a raise.
Advice to Senior Management – Get your thumbs out of your asses and recognize talent! You guys are to worried about your pockets and not your employees and you will never run a successful company
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
