Not a horrible place, but not great.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGood pay for GM, if you are located in a good location hitting sales can be MUCH easier.

ConsTotally loosing focus on serving the customer although upper management thinks that they are.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop pushing for numbers so hard, all your doing is causing employees to clerk and not help customers.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

A job, but not necessarily a career

    General Manager (Former Employee)

    ProsDeep exposure to automotive industry.
Great relationships with local auto service shops (both owners and technicians.
A great place to learn more about how to do most any repair on most vehicles.

ConsScheduling matrices and payroll budgets were very hard to operate with. The starting hourly pay was not enough to attract the experienced talent the company needed, and the daily and weekly administrative tasks were often difficult to complete without working more hours as a salaried manager beyond scheduled time.

    -improved room for career growth

Cons-communication from upper mgmt is not always prompt as the street might know before you
-no longer in the MN area
-team not always looped in on large company decisions

Advice to Senior ManagementCommunicate promptly and share as much information as possible with team

A decent place to work while in your early years of school

Sales Associate (Former Employee) Gainesville, FL

ProsNot a difficult job, a little bit of automotive knowledge goes a long way. Decent starting pay even if raises are few and far between.

ConsDetached upper management who would rather use fear through sharklike district managers than encouragement. Pay raises are small, and few and far between.

Advice to Senior ManagementProper training goes a long way. District managers who are less shark like and more supportive would greatly increase moral and drastically decrease store tensions

met a lot of good people in warehouse , plenty of overtime if you needed the money, shift difference for working nights

General Warehouse Worker (Former Employee) Lakeland, FL

ProsDecent starting salary, 401K program, health benefits

ConsHigh turnover rate, Some managers are lazy and should know more about the job then they do, No real room for advancement in career, does not offer tuition reimbursement or assistance, scared of competing companies when they are not really a threat....

Advice to Senior ManagementThere are simple tasks that managers should know how to do instead of employees. Listen more to what your general workers have to say and stop thinking they know it all when some of them have never even worked in a warehouse before, just sat behind a computer. You can NOT run a warehouse sitting behind a computer screen all day

Good job for the super go getter.

Retail Parts Pro (Current Employee) Huntsville, TX

ProsGood benefits, fellow employees are good to work with. You can stay busy if you want to be.

ConsRaises are non-existant, upper management pushy to get team members to sell. Logic seems to be gone by the wayside by corporate leadership. Must perform well above local market standards with no excuses to be looking at moving up. Cut throat sales tastics brought on by accountability if you don't make your sales goals.

Advice to Senior ManagementTake a better look at the area market before setting sales goals. Do the homework on true capability of the market before complaining about what isn't happening. Huntsville is no Houston for sales.

THIS COMPANY CARES NOTHING ABOUT ITS PEOPLE! UNLESS YOUR CORPORATE AND THEN YOU CAN HAVE A FAMILY LIFE

General Manager (Current Employee) Anderson, SC

ProsI love working on cars and love talking about them .

ConsThey want sales but they expect the GM to work a counter all day instead of running the business. They do everything they can to make your job harder every week! They expect a store to run 7 days a week on 200 hours . 50 of those being yours. District managers and above dont have to even leave their house all week and get paid and they want to fuss at you for wanting a Friday off

Advice to Senior ManagementDistrict managers have Zero accountability and make great money doing absolutlety nothing all week. They can spend time with their family and enjoy life. While i might go 3 days without seeing my family because of ridiculous hours and overbearing expectations

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
