    Pros

    There are great employees in the company.

    Cons

    I was on the Sales Management team and there were only two women and 1 Hispanic out of 44 Commercial Sales Managers. When I asked others why there was not more diversity in the company I was told that the company is a Southern Company. Whatever that means? It's a fortune 500 company, aren't all companies supposed to grow their diverse talent? In the stores, you see diversity but that diversity should also be represented in Management and in their executive make up.

    Advice to Management

    Grow your talent.

    The pay is decent Unfortunately that is the only good thing i have to say about DC30 in Kutztown PA.

    Cons

    This company rarely hires any African Americans The hiring process is serverly flawed No real advancement Enough favoritism to last a lifetime Management sucks at DC30

    Look into hiring practices at DC30 Look into unfair practices Promote from within Hiring more African Americans

    Pros

    Great training as a salesperson. Beginning of working here I started off learning from automotive system training advance offers. In this way advance is great foot step towards parts counter service in dealerships.

    Cons

    Sales goal is poorly managed. Core refunds on hard parts go against your goal as well as loaner tools. Very little promotions in house. Several managers go against standard operating procedure to help out friends and themselves. As a sales person I have had responsibilities thrown on me that are required of management at the store level several times a day. Coversations said in confidence with upper management tend to be relayed to other team members.

    Advice to Management

    Promote in house instead of hiring outside the company for management. Provide adequate training for employees to move up. Revise current sales goal procedure and make it worth the hard work team members put in to reach that's goal.

    Pros

    Great for someone starting out and great for customers. Like so many retail companies today they will bend over backwards for their customers.

    Cons

    All about sales and customers and does not care about the employees on the front line that make the company what it is.

    Advice to Management

    Stop worrying only about sales. You have had some great employees that have given you their all but have left because they have felt like a number instead of the piece of your company that makes your company work. Hire from within more instead of going outside.

    Pros

    Excellent mgt from top to bottom. A great place to earn a good pay for work well done. Good benefits and pay.

    Cons

    None that I can think of. The owner and management were great people and always treated me and all other employees and customers first rate.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work and continue to do all the right things that you do. Never compromise and I wish you the best!

    Pros

    Easy job, everything is really common sense, get to know people with the hook ups. It's hard to get fired if you do everything right.

    Cons

    You have to know people in order to move up. A lot of favoritism in advance auto parts, you have to be up the DMs a** in order to get a promotion. This company really is about who you know, not what you know.

    Advice to Management

    Better training, as a manager and as person. Personal flaws intervene.
