    They really have made customer care a priority.

    Cons

    Advance is years behind in the software that is used. Many merchandising and register task could be improved with the expanded use of the LRT's.

    So far limited communication with Management has been pleasant and professional.

    Cons

    Often feel as if I've been "lost in shuffle" with the recent acquisitions of other companies.

    Pros

    The only Pro is a company vehicle

    Cons

    Leadership is dishonest, arrogant, will through anybody under the bus to cover themselves from a write-up or firing.. meaning leadership has NO accountability because they're all buddies & cover each other.

    Leadership does not care if you have a life outside of work, they expect you to work 60-70 hr's a week & still complain you're not doing enough.

    You'll also be micro-managed & harassed beyond belief & that is not an exaggeration

    Company benefits are very poor as I got better healthcare rates on my own.

    Company is so cheap they make you pay for your own uniforms.

    HR back's leadership-up and does not investigate unless forced too.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Be honest, stop lying, stop abusing your power & making employee's underneath you take the blame resulting in employee's being written-up and or fired.

    Be accountable, do as you say through actions, not false promises / commitment's to your employee's and customer's.

    Pros

    There are many opportunities for advancement and growth. The company tries to improve by implementing new processes that typically can make it easier to manage. In my experience they took very good care of good people.

    Cons

    Payroll. Under-staffing. You can not take proper care of customers with one or two people in the store..

    The bonus program used to be great. The biggest thing to me is correctly staffing a store. Most of the time it was unrealistic completely.

    As a commercial team member and driver your able to get out of the store. Work well with students school schedules.

    Cons

    Computer training is annoying and redundant. Pay rates are low for both regular and management. Certain management members are airheads.

    Figure out what your doing before trying to train others. Be upfront with your employees.

    Pros

    I like that Advance is always growing. They have a healthy stock trend and seem to be heading in the right direction from a macro perspective.

    Cons

    Advance wants more from you as an employee. They want a lot more and, since I first started, they have placed unreasonable salary caps on important positions. On paper the jobs seem only to justify the pay provided. In reality, there is not enough return on my invested time and energy. Having upward mobility is an incentive but should never be calculated as compensation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Rediscover how stressful it is to work in a struggling store. Flagship stores are not indicators of the day-to-day work environment that most employees put up with.
