    Pros

To manage many projects at once.

    Cons

Constant executive management changes therefore a sustainable culture is never really established.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't make changes for the sake of making changes. Listen to your tenured employees. They have strong suggestions for improvement. You have created an ivory tower, stay in-tuned to your locations.

I worked at AdvancePierre Foods full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The benefits offered are outstanding. Cheap medical, vision and dental, weekly pay, great 401k, they are willing to train you in whatever position they hire you into. I got riderjack, forklift, reach truck, and other manufacturing food safety certification without any prior experience.

    Cons

They cannot keep enough employees to satisfy their need so the workload gets passed on to everyone else. On one plant the manager seemed to ignore the shortage and by making us sign job descriptions she expected to eventually place the blame on the employees. On the other plant they threaten us to deduct points and fire us if we didn't show up for "mandatory" days, which eventually the CEO came in and stated that they could not force us to work overtime. Too bad thing are not like "back in the day."

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Rethink your strategy and your point system. Employees that take work lightly or as a joke are better be replaced as soon as possible, for you can loose employees that wish to work and grow with the company.

I worked at AdvancePierre Foods full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Good benefits and time off / vacation, average compensation,

    Cons

Still finding their direction from merger in 2011/2012. Change, change and more change without adequate support to implement goals. Communication is lacking compounding the ability to achieve company goals.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communicate more effectively. Talk to your people and listen. Those doing the job on a daily basis are more in tune with what can be accomplished and be manageable.

    Pros

Great people to be able to call family. Longevity. Many employees been the 20 plus years. Not the same bottom line first people second

    Cons

Company is still searching for an identity. Pay is average. Promising bonuses but not delivered

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stepping stone

I worked at AdvancePierre Foods full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Nice people to work with. Health benefits are pretty good

    Cons

The HR dept is only there as a cover. Americans aren't really welcome in the production dept. IT and marketing go through people more often then the toilets are flushed. The aim for the company is to save a dollar wherever they can, especially in the injured employee dept. (injury attys should stand outside, they'd get a caseload).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Waste of time and breath

Former Employee - Mid Level Manager

I worked at AdvancePierre Foods full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Many of the non-management employees are very kind and helpful. I am still friends with quite a few. Salary was adequate.

    Cons

Communication was very poor. Management had their "clicks". If you weren't in the "click" you were left out of processes, projects, etc. I even experienced honesty issues with mid level management. I was completely miserable and dreaded comings to work each and every day.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communication improvement and team work need to be the focus. There was no empowerment either.

Great paycheck? Ha! That's a joke

    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

I have been working at AdvancePierre Foods

    Pros

Overtime most of the time. Benefits when hired on full time are pretty good. Sometimes get to eat some decent food.

    Cons

Nobody can support a family on $8/hour. Promotions RARELY happen in this company. And it is ridiculous the workload management expects you to do.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your employees like humans that are worth something, not animals. Working your 8:30 to 5 jobs with meetings about the next meeting you're having does NOTHING. You want productive? Help your employees help you. Point blank.
