Business is a rollercoaster. Bottom line profits take precedence over American jobs so many are lost to move more of the business to China.

Reinvest in America. The products produced overseas (China especially) are not as good as those produced in the USA. You are selling out America.

Treat your people with respect and value their contribution.

This is a high energy work environment with high expectations. Your co-workers are very helpful and respectful. All in all, AE has been a good place to work in a fast moving industry.

Cons

Change top level management seems to be taking the comany back to a previous way of doing business. The advice from management has been to roll with the changes or possibly lose your job, but many people are losing out anyway. Using the conventional wisdom of "Cut jobs and facilites until profitable again" is not working, the stocks have remained basically flat and are struggling to get into 2-digits even after two RIFs.

Advice to Senior Management

To the new CEO; advice to employees has always been to get creative when no obvious solution is in sight. I say the same to you. Business experts from the past have no better knowledge of the future than anyone else. Start getting creative and dump the old ways of slashing jobs.
