    Pros

Great pay, benefits, small organization, low bureaucracy.

    Cons

They continuously lay (read fire) people off with not even an hour of warning. It could be due to performance or budget, they won't say. Awful business practice.

    Advice to Management

Build a better company by managing and mentoring your employees. No one wants to work for a company and they never know if they will have a job the next day.

    Pros

    Small Company, loose office structure

    Cons

Company President and other leadership had no clue what they were doing, filled their pockets at the expense of hard working contract staff. They would then let you know how beneath them you are, do yourself a favor and find a more reputable company to work for. This company was loosing all their federal contracts and winning few beginning in 2012 and the trend has not changed.

    Advice to Management

Get off your high horse and admit you can not succeed without the staff around you.

    Pros

Appropriate authority and supervision given to perform job functions efficiently. In other words, no micromanagement is awesome! Supported me in achieving PMP certification.

    Cons

Remote offices. No heavy interaction with PMO. Minimal interaction with HQ.

    Pros

Flexible, but failed to include satellite locations into business planning; Holiday planning; No Bonuses either.

    Cons

Upper Management failed to respond effectively to Middle Management.

Middle Management did not have hire AND fire authority which ultimately negated the entire organization.

    Advice to Management

Screen your employees - especially contracted employees that are viewed as "warm bodies" filling a slot so the company can receive income. "Warm bodies" overburden the functioning team!

  7. Another typical low-ball government contractor

    Pros

My direct supervisor was military and more liberal with my personal needs than Advancia.

    Cons

They skimp the employees who actual do the contract labor and keep too much for theirselves

    Advice to Management

Step off your high-horse and treat your contract labor better.
