    Cons

upper management is not helpful, no real training, salary is lowest in industry, no follow through from managers, HR says has to be available 24 hours a day 7 days a week no personal time, AMS does not allow for family time, upper management is females when you question things they will replace you.

I have been working at Advantage Sales and Marketing

    Pros

Flexible hours during the week. No nights or weeends

    Cons

Nothing is guaranted. If you transfer to another city that is supposed to be full time, make sure you get it in writing. I moved from Ohio to PA thinking I was going to be full time with benefits and vacation. I was verbally promised by 2 bosses and I made the mistake and did not get it in writing because I trusted these people. Why would I move to a different state for part time work and no benefits or vacation? Lesson learned. Get it in writing. I got screwed big time

I have been working at Advantage Sales and Marketing part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Always something different, never boring.

    Cons

Traveling all over having to deal with unfamiliar stores, poor communication with company, no organization, constant schedule changes at last minute, either adding on suddenly or taking away a day/s. No advancement opportunities, no raises for most and favoritism is shown. It's not what you know, but who know that gets for advancement. High turnover all the time of associates. Non adequate kitchen tools to do the job right or poor cheap ones, not professional.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Acknowledge those who do well. Allow associates to Network and help each other out. Give enough work to keep associates from quitting. Reward those longstanding associates with more hours first instead of giving them to new associates. Many associates have left because of this. Have the proper tools to do the job the right and professional way. Don't cut corners by buying cheap supplies. It costs more in the long run to replace them more often. It takes money to make money.

I worked at Advantage Sales and Marketing (more than 5 years)

    Pros

If you like working with people this can be a good place to work. Merchandising in retail outlets is interesting and you have an opportunity to work in a number of venues.

    Cons

    1. Absolutely dismal training procedures.
    2. Inconsistent support if any from mid level managers (I had 7 district managers in 7 months as a supervisor).
    3. Inadequate response or no response to the needs of the supervisors.
    4. inadequate compensation with regards to the job description.
    5. Rude mid level managers.
    6. Because of the way ASM handles their contracts with vendors it is impossible to project store associates schedules out more than about a week and those schedules are subject to change as late as 12 hours before the beginning of shift.
    7. Raises are non-existent! I mean that literally. I worked for them as a lead for 4 1/2 years without a raise.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I'm afraid there is so much that needs to be changed it will never happen. Value your people more and treat them better. Pay a competitive wage, even to part-timers. Don't micro-manage club supervisors.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Advise to management is to plan on working with a person when they're new in their position before dumping a workload and your employee starts failing.
