Pros
-Engaged Staff
-Great development opportunities
-Always looking to the future to try new things and be different as an organization
Cons
-The organization is split into silos and it is sometimes hard to find the right person to work with but once you find the correct person it's amazing the things we accomplish.
Pros
great company, people are nice and supportive. team I work with is awesome and so supportive. have a great manangement team
Cons
feel like you are always trying to catching up with reports. can be a bit overwhelming with so many changes
Pros
Pay is ok but benefits aren't good.
Cons
The mgmt and employees don't treat eachother with respect and no growth at all.
Advice to Senior Management
none
Pros
Above average educational support, pension plan and 401 k employer match 3% average, excellent organizational structure.
Cons
Above average hospital case loads, crowded work environment, average to below average salary and compensation related to educational and work experience level. Minimal patient lift equipment in facility increases staff risk for injury with repetitive lifting of increasingly overweight and immobile patient population.
Advice to Senior Management
Improve staff compensation related to educational level and experience level. Improve work environment for patients and staff with private rooms and adequate staff to patient ratios. Avoid growth for the sack of growth without addressing these primary patient and staff issues.
Pros
Standard amount of hours for full or part time employees. And the benefits package wasn't bad either, and wages were calculated by "time in the field"
Cons
Senior cooking staff wasn't very receptive to new ideas. The regular staff was miserable and didn't enjoy cooking at all. Fresh cooking was non-existent in that kitchen. Almost everything was prepackaged and precooked, resulting in a higher food cost that there in resulted in cutting out any and all overtime for hourly employees. Over all, mismanagement from higher staff that added to the lack luster attitude towards food and the end product was something that tasted like it was out of a can....cause it was
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to your employees about possible ideas, especially if it means fresher food and better products. And if your staff can't handle fresh cooking then they really need to be re-evaluated
Pros
Wonderful community.
Some really talented coworkers.
Good pay to start.
Middle management really works hard to support their staff.
Satisfaction in helping others.
Cons
Upper management ties the hands of middle management. There are minimal pay increases, and greater work loads. Everyone is disposable. Employee turn-over is very high for a reason. There is a distinct arrogance of many higher medical staff towards others, which needs to be addressed and causes uncomfortable working environment. They do nothing to retain talented and dedicated employees. Lots of drama and gossip.
Pros
Great opportunities for side projects & overtime.
Cons
Typical office drama, can be like high school even from the supervisors.
Advice to Senior Management
Try & stop office bullying.
Pros
Working in a health care enviornment. If you are outgoing a plus, but don't be overly friendly can be construed as lacksadaisical. Very great area for networking with doctors and cliental.
Cons
Lack of set standard operating procedures utilize antiquated security system that leaves securing the building almost impossible. Improper utilization of security personnel.
Advice to Senior Management
Work on standard operating procedures. Utilize a newer security camera system that is user friendly. Demonstrate loyalty to your employees by ensuring doctrine is followed throughout the hospital and not changed as a convenience of nurses.
Pros
Great benefits..........decent pay........advancement with education...they pay for you to go back to school. Using Advocate sites for your own health care was 100 discounts. You could transfer sites if there was jobs openings that suited you. They had many site all over Northeastern Illinois. Many different opportunities for a change in jobs, if one wanted. You have to stay for 6 months in your job, but after that, you can transfer, not just job, but area and location.
Cons
Too many bosses, not enough worker bees. Too many employee staff meetings. FMLA was easily taken advantage of by many employee's and that would double the work load to those that were working the floors
Advice to Senior Management
lessen the work load. Hire better people. Do not implement to many changes at one time
Pros
I am given increased responsibilities based on my knowledge and capabilities - and additional work hours when I want them.
Cons
My unit runs short staffed quite often. Nurses are spread thin. Morale gets low. People break the rules (no call/no show) to work and mgmt. turns the cheek.
Advice to Senior Management
It's not always about being under budget. When your staff is tired, what exactly is the quality in the care given?
