    I worked at Aepona full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    Working with latest technologies. Good people to work with and socialise. Telecoms industry always looking to innovate. Fairly small company so no real bureaucracy.

    Cons

    Poor business direction/product management - never fully sure requirements were thought out properly from a roadmap perspective - newly-implemented software tended to torn up/rewritten a few months later. No real career path direction.

    Make product management accountable for quality of requirements and deliverables.

    I worked at Aepona full-time

    Pros

    Great Team. Aepona Sri Lanka has a one of a kind team with great fellowship.
    Exposure to technology - exposure the to the technology is very high, even for testing level , a great level of technology exposure is expected. And the testers even get the chance to learn the technology well.
    Great Mid level management - Country level managers have taken care of the team in a great manner.

    Cons

    Possible over time work.
    Recent increments were not to the standards
    slow technological advancements

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    After the acquisition by Intel, the recognition for the staff has been diminished strongly. This needs to be taken in to a note before the organisation loses many valuable employees.

    I have been working at Aepona full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    The camaraderie, the craic, working alongside some of the most talented individuals in the market.

    Good holidays, better than average terms and conditions.

    Can negotiate working from home package.

    Cons

    Management did make some wrong deicisons along with the way in a market that is constantly in flux but ultimately those decisions kept people in jobs until the acquisition by Intel.

    Still, the engineers are expected to work at an unsusatinable pace which looks like it is going to change under new management.

    The engineering department has not been allowed to evolve over time and now lags behind in terms of how it develops its software with other companies of a similar age/size. Company gets by on the talent and dedication of its engineers but has done little to help them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Management now acknowledges the needs for changes and I expect the company to emerge bigger and better as an Intel Business Unit over the next 1-2 years.

    Pros

    Good Management, bettere woking environment.
    Flxible working hours.
    Extended working is recognised.
    slightly over the average remunaration.

    Cons

    The technological advancement is ina a lover phase than the average.
    Some cases extended hours of working is required.

    Some of the smartest talent I've ever worked with.
    People (staff) great to get along with, genuinely want to help
    Market is hot

    Cons

    Management is out of touch and out of control
    Product is extremely lacking (immature)

    Step back and look at what's going on at staff level; appreciate and empower the staff

    Pros

    Your fellow co-workers (excluding management) care about doing the right things and taking care of the customers.
    You develop strong camaraderie with your co-workers in sharing all the dysfunctional stories about the company
    They issue employees Macs and not Window laptops.
    Most of us long timers believe the company could of been special if management didn't make the wrong bets and drive the company to the ground

    Cons

    Management is completely clueless in the marketplace or they seriously just don't care
    Management has absolutely zero respect for the employee base
    The culture is completely about blame and criticism
    Nepotism - Its a morale killer and very unfair
    SERIOUSLY NO ONE LIKES WORKING HERE

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    It's very obvious to all of us that management knows there are some very serious problems, but at the end of day its all about what best for them. It's just pitiful but any advice to management doesn't really matter unless its all about how to maximize their own personal standing.

    Pros

    A bunch of really talented individuals - the Irish are always great to work with
    Reasonable compensation & benefits
    The company has potential to really be "something"

    Cons

    Confused, over-managed org structure
    Employees are never able to take ownership of decisions
    Corp strategy is very schizophrenic
    Employees are thought of as disposable
    No incentive for key contributors to innovate

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Focus on growing a sustainable business, rather than configuring for exit
    Realise the best assets are the employees, not your buddies in Senior Management
    Encourage career development, and communicate better with the staff
    Allow all employees to share in the current & future success of the company, rather than rewarding only senior management

    Pros

    Very smart colleagues
    In a "hot" and "buzz word" space to be in
    Company salary is above average
    Company offers (most of the time) freedom to get job done

    Cons

    For the most part management knows there are some serious and real issues with product and execution; however, there answer is to blame the employees, blame the customers and blame some more.
    Morale at non-management level is the worse I've even seen in a company.
    Rank and file should not feel they can be replace or disposed at any convenient time.
    A real part of the management culture is to openly berate and criticize.
    No real consideration of any work life balance

    Be courageous enough to see and admit the reality of what's going on within the company.
    Stop blaming everybody and anybody.
    Put effort in being able to support your customer.
    Stop making your every effort and motivation about selling the company.
    Pretend better you actually care about your employees.

    Pros

    benefits are good
    holidays are good...you also get the Belfast holidays
    base compensation is good
    colleagues are helpful
    clients are good to work with

    Cons

    management is atrocious
    cycle out employees regularly
    management does not take accountability for company challenges...like to push blame on staff
