    Pros

Aera is a strong believer of the lean and continuous improvement process, They technically driven; almost all of the companies management across all disciplines are engineers. They give employees with 0-5 years experience with the company 4 weeks paid vacation (not including the 2 weeks paid sick leave).

    Cons

The main con that I've experienced is that Aera operates only in California (Headquartered in the Bakersfield area). If you aren't from the area, it is difficult to settle here.

    Pros

Great benefits and they hold true to the work-life balance with the 9/80 schedule

    Cons

Company is focused on engineers and therefore forgets about the value that business segments add to the business, as is reflected in the overall culture of the company.

    Pros

Good Salary and 4 weeks of vacation

    Cons

Politically motivated, and does not really care about employees.

    Advice to Management

Stop promoting political backstabbers and realize all different types of employees are needed to effectively run a good organization.

    Pros

Great benefits. Family oriented company that encourages sons, daughters, wives to apply. Promotes good health from the top down and fully embraces safety culture.

    Cons

Huge age gap in technical staff. Offices are only in California so there will not be any movement out of California.

    Advice to Management

Continue to cross train young professionals by sending them to other fields outside of California to gain industry experience. Keep doing what you're doing.
