A great place to work if you're in sales

I worked at Aerotek full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

A great company to develop relationships, network, and build your resume. If you want to work at one place your entire career, you can do it here, especially as a sales professional.

    Cons

Comp and career track for sales jobs are great; not so much for support positions. Lots of talk about valuing all employees but little demonstrated interest in paying non-sales personnel the market rate or providing career paths that offer meaningful professional growth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep doing what you're doing and you will continue to grow revenue. You'll also continue to have high attrition and low engagement. If revenue growth is the main thing, though, you're on the right track.

I worked at Aerotek full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Working in the corporate office can be a decent job right out of college. The pay is fairly low but if you take your job seriously you'll really drill home the importance of attention to detail and completing your tasks in a timely manner that will help set you up for your next endeavor.

    Cons

There aren't a lot of career paths in this company when you start as a BOA and you're not moving up unless you're part of the clique. If you haven't made friends with the right people within 6 months you'll want to resign yourself to the fact that you won't be furthering your career unless you go elsewhere.Aerotek ends up losing quite a few good people because of these issues with career advancement. In addition, you're micromanaged. When you first start it doesn't seem like much but once you start to show you know what you're doing the rules and policies in place make less and less sense. Unfortunately that micro-management tends to lead to a lot of work being made up by dishonest employees afraid they won't get their full bonus.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You do a great job training your employees but take a look at how you can better identify promising employees and move them into roles that take advantage of the skills they have developed (that might not be the career path you have in mind for this position). Also, the micro-management helps train your employees but at some point you need to allow your employees to do what they get paid to do.

    Pros

Flexible work schedule, as well as a fun working environment. Things at corporate are very loose which allows for you to smile a lot throughout the day.

    Cons

A lot of broken promises. Your supervisors tend to tell you one thing but then turn around and do the opposite. If you are not a suck-up, you are viewed as a problem. Too much favoritism takes place and it's blatant.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay more attention to how supervisors treat the associates. It's easy to pin-point which ones are terrible leaders. Also, please promote internally more, it's aggrivating to see outsiders getting promotional jobs while not allowing your in-house staff to get the chance.

I have been working at Aerotek full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good training program
Some very nice people that work there
Good pay if you are a top recruiter
Ability to get promoted within 1-2 years
Easy to get another recruiting job

    Cons

    Poor management
The current senior leader has had almost the entire office (50 people) quit or get fired in 2012. Granted, there were some bad employees, and there still are several bad AM's that do anything they can to save face. It's just bad business.
Long hours-- M-F from 7:30-6:30 and don't be late or you'll get fired
Entitled Account Managers that think they rule the world
    Preferred treatment for men
Forget using your vacation and personal time-- they won't let you
You will have to work from home when you are sick, or they may accuse you of not being sick and make you come in
"Optional" happy hours until 10 PM
Fearing for your job on a daily basis because coworkers throw you under the bus

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of the current management entirely and transplant a good person to run the business.
