I worked at Aetna full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Aetna has a very ethical and open environment, provides great benefits and promotes equality in all aspects. Multiple locations all across nation and plenty of work at home opportunities add to the over all appeal of this compnay

    Cons

Nothing really that would stand out as a con. Personal growth could be a challenge at times, if not actively pursued within the company career ladder.

I worked at Aetna as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Corporate culture was very inviting and accommodated my presence very well. I learned a tremendous amount about project management and the healthcare system in the United States. Great opportunities to expose yourself to executive speakers, volunteer programs, and internship-based activities/assignments.

    Cons

The only con was the lack of interns at my particular location. While the internship was focused in their headquarters in Hartford, CT, the Jacksonville, FL had a very small amount of interns.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management during my internship was incredibly helpful. I learned a great deal through my weekly one-on-one meetings with my manager, the constructive criticism was very beneficial, and the opportunity to expose myself to many facets of the company through my manager's connections was extremely rewarding.

I have been working at Aetna full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Mark's take on family time being very important and taking PTO.

    Cons

Not enough work station space for new hires and that may leave a bad first impression on the company as a whole. No toilet seat covers or bathroom deodorizers in place!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider having team building activities and outings for your employees. It's very important to get to know your colleagues and leaders in a different setting that's more relaxed and can unwind.

I worked at Aetna as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Flexible work schedule, even as an intern I was given the option to set up my work schedule, I was given a company laptop which sometimes allowed me to work from home as an intern. Attended high level meeting with executive and enjoyed the work environment. I had coworker all over the country who we corroborated via phone and Webex meeting.

    Cons

the cubicle can get really boring that you might fall asleep easily.

I have been working at Aetna full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

This company cares about our overall well being. Whether it is physical or emotional, Aetna cares about its employees.

    Cons

Transisitioning over to Aetna's business practices and ensuring the migrating of both proctices are best for both members and business plans.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen more to your employees and how they feel the current processes affect both customer and business changes.

I worked at Aetna full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great people to work with, love helping members in need.

    Cons

I was with the company for almost 3 years but was not able to relocate to my home town when my dad had a terminal illness (cancer).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

allow relocation even if there is no near actual building near by to report in the event of system going down and just deduct time for time loss if this would happen as non pay.
