    Unbelievable

Former Analyst (Former Employee) Bronx, NY

ProsDecent pay, benefits, retirement plan, decent coworkers. Good CEO who comes around to greet everyone. Very flexible when it comes to breaks.

ConsI can't stress enough regarding way the management is run. All they care about is production, results that aren't urgent but make it seem like it's urgent. They treat you like you are just a robot on a payroll and fire you for no legitimate reason. Manager brings his or her personal problems and stress into employees heads and uses those for bullying employees. They are rude, unprofessional individuals who yells at you for making a minor mistake in public... Every single day! He or she stresses on teamwork but does not allowed to talk to each other regarding projects? He or she stresses on fairness but you treat certain ones much more friendly and tolerate mistakes than others? Something to think about..

Advice to Senior ManagementLearn how to treat you employees with dignity, respect, and courtesy. Please have a personal conversation once in a while... It's healthy for the team and for individual employee. If three of four people have left on their own just for unprofessionalism of management, please get the point!!!!

    DO NOT WORK HERE

    Analyst (Former Employee) Bronx, NY

    ProsEmployee benefits and compensation rate.

ConsToo top heavy in management. Everyone seems to be a VP or a Director of something. The assistants have assistants. Too many consultants on and off site, yet no one seems to be any happier or moving forward. No feeling of long-term job security. Focus too much on productivity, efficiency and production; and very little on the individual employee's unique strengths, abilities and contributions. Everything you do while employed with Affinity is constantly scrutinized and monitored: bathroom breaks, lunch breaks, telephone calls, emails, faxes sent and received, copies made, documents printed. You need a code to print and to copy. Company has very unstable financials: has difficulty in paying their bills on time; specifically in the reimbursing of their providers. They recently had a major layoff due to alleged budget cuts, yet they continue to hire new people every day. Unless you are a high-level executive protected by the CEO, your job there is not stable, protected or secure. There is a high turnover of employees, mainly via termination. They think absolutely nothing of firing people, because to them you are just a paycheck on their payroll, and are therefore replaceable and expendable This company is not going to be around long-term.

Advice to Senior ManagementI do not have any advice for management, due to their being an integral part of the problem.

Your experience depends on who you work for

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsSmall. Nice employees overall. Great Legacy and grass roots.

ConsNew order of things coming in streamlining without asking questions. Silos exist everywhere. Always fighting fires. Executives believe that current staff and Bronx location are subpar. That doesn't help morale especially after all the layoffs.

Advice to Senior ManagementCreate a Results Only Work Environment. Treat your staff like adults and manage the work and develop the employee. Not fair that the high performers pay for those lacking in it. Don't tell your middle managers to "dumb" down their evaluation scores. And real transparency is real transparent. Don't underestimate your existing staff.

Some nice people but pretty disorganized and nuts

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Bronx, NY

ProsExcellent pay and benefits. Nice colleagues. Flexibiltiy around taking care of personal life even if it interferes with work time. HR is fairly decent and will listen to you if you have a complaint. Unfortunately, they don't seem to have much power to do anything.

Consextremeley disorganized. complete inconsistency with how people are treated. Unapologetic scapegoating and favortism. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. This was the worst communication I have ever experienced at a company. They are also so grossly unfair to certain people to the point it is disgraceful. This may have been more with my department.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe more care who is hired in leadership positions. Try to focus on the work itself and listen to line staff. They are not necessarily trying ot be defiant. They are overloaded, overwhelmed, frustrated and not given the appropriate tools to do their job.

A good beginning job but not a place for growth opportunity.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Bronx, NY

ProsAffinity Health Plan is a good place to start for entry level. You will have the opportunity to take on new experiences, which you can add to your resume.

ConsPoor management skills. No advancement opportunities or career development. You take on new tasks and projects, but hardly get recognized for your efforts.

Advice to Senior ManagementSpend less time advertising the plan, spend more time building a solid foundation within the company. This will building a more lasting relationship with members.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
