There is a fundamental lack of understanding on basic economic drivers at the company. If they understood the economics of their business, they would be able to lower cogs, allocate resources better and be more competitive.

The market is great, too bad internally everyone knows there are serious problems and for some reason they don't address it, scary

Marketing leadership is obsessed with details that have no relavance.
Internal employees know they have serious problems and the attitude is, not my job, weird.
Marketing Management should be reviewed and possibly replaced.

Focus on inovation rather than continue to market struggling products. Make sure products come to market after comprehensive quality control.

Free food, promote from within, family atmosphere, market leadership, cutting edge technology, diversity, supportive upper management, generous tuition fee reimbursement program and prestige.

Management prone to make misstep, get out of focus and tend to be high flying leading to losing market dominance and leadership.

They should have kept the West Sacramento, Ca manufacturing facility because it is the only property that Affymetrix, Inc. owned and practically new and immaculate when it was shut down and move operation to Singapore.

-Unbalanced structure- too many managers for the number of people who work hands on.
-Insecurity about future is making many good people leave, management needs to be more honest about company's direction.

Too much focus on the Product development and lacking far behind in other functional area. Need DNA attitude (Daring, Passionate and Platinum) in other area for balancing/optimizing things.
Need fresh/new resources who can think out side the box..
