I have been working at AgencyRx full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Very passionate employees who want to do the innovative and meaningful work for our clients. There are some extremely bright people here who are not afraid to push others to be their best. Nice offices perks like bagel fridays, bring dogs to work, half day summer Fridays, etc.

    Cons

Has been going through some changes. Leadership is working on moving in the right direction but struggles at times.

    Advice to Management

Focus on setting your employees up to succeed - they are your best asset.

I have been working at AgencyRx full-time

    Pros

Since Michael took over the creative department things are infinitely better. The leadership team is finally gelling and the positive momentum is trickling down.

    Cons

Creative talent pool still airflow shallow. Hopefully we bring in more creative talent. Michael is spread too thin and can't do it all.

    Advice to Management

Hire more creative people. More young talent is needed. Communicate with the agency about the positive momentum.

    Pros

    - Great coworkers - Bagel Fidays - A lot of talent

    Cons

    - Long hours - Salary could be better - Don't get paid overtime

    Advice to Management

    - Consider overtime for salaried employees across all departments

I worked at AgencyRx full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good if you are looking for a first job, right out of school, and want to know what an agency job is like.

    Cons

Be prepared for long hours due to mismanagement by Project Managers, and account teams. There were NO BONUSES at all in the winter of 2014, which resulted in most of the good talent making an exodus in early 2015. Many of the offices, seats and cubicles are now empty. Lots of derogatory remarks, and airing of dirty laundry, are made about anybody no longer with the company at the 200 Varick St location. The inmates seem to be running the asylum.

    Advice to Management

You can run your company or run it into the ground, because you are the leaders. From VP tier up, management is surly and aggressive, and unprofessional. Policy sems to be a matter of whimsy.

I worked at AgencyRx full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Workspace was clean and comfortable, you had some privacy.

    Cons

    - Lots of back stabbing - Too many supervisors and people in useless positions - The production dept. is a mess and routinely throws art teams under the bus. Passing the blame on their own failings - The account dept. does not see the creatives as equal, which creates power struggles and team disfunction - No work/life balance

    Advice to Management

Seriously look into the CDM production/studio group. The current setup hinders creativity and efficiency. Also Creative Directors need to back up their own teams and get involved more than play office politics.

    Pros

Opportunity to work with various groups in different mediums.

    Cons

Long hours. I found it difficult to have free time after work and weekends. Very demanding with very little reward.

I have been working at AgencyRx full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some of the best coworkers and collaborators I've ever worked with. Intelligent, sense of humor, handle stress very well. Beautiful office with a large 'piazza' for lunch, events and parties. Summer Fridays, Bagel Fridays! Autonomy, opportunity to improve your department and your own professional skills

    Cons

Routinely understaffed all around. It can take a long time to replace a full-time employee that has moved on. At times, there can be long hours due to the above.

    Advice to Management

Don't be afraid to invest in staff! There are some extremely bright people here that don't get the chance to improve process, keep up with technology and trends, etc, because they're far too busy trying to keep up with the workload.

I worked at AgencyRx part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Not an open office plan. People are friendlier, have room to breathe, have conversations, LAUGH, and be creative or work hard without that paranoia/stress of the open office plan. People are actually nice to one another here, and productive. The people are smart, dedicated. The process is tight. The agency had a rough year last year, due to some consolidations and products that failed to launch, and there is a fatalistic air about some of the staff. The good news is senior management seems to be working to right the ship. The recognize the right players.

    Cons

There could be a stronger bond between account and creative. Energy, morale is low on some accounts.

    Advice to Management

Reload, pitch like hell, and be aggressive

    Pros

Best benefits in town, this is what I hear from everyone. Part of CDM so you will always be surrounded by a big team, mostly account. Production is it's own company. Has structure, support and all the things you expect of a large business. Substance Style Conviction & Grace are good values. Lots of good people but many are leaving.

    Cons

Seem always changing around groups and unsure of who they are. Lower employees do all the work, and partners do not lead by example, except maybe account who has a new partner. Very political as you go up the food chain. No transparency and accountability at highest level even though tthey talk about it all the time. Lots of internal things get started and never finished.

    Advice to Management

Think about consequsences of your actions to clients and agency, all change is not good. Roll up your sleeves and lose the ego.
