Current Employee – been working at Agilent Technologies full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Excellent benefits, a pension plan (!), tremendous work/life balance, and generally very skilled and dedicated colleagues.
Cons – Very set in old approaches/tried-and-true, resistant to change and questioning of status quo.
Advice to Senior Management – Don't be afraid to lead more, dictate a strong vision of where you want the company to go and push your managers to do the same. Agilent needs more top-down direction.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

Former Employee – worked at Agilent Technologies
Pros – Fairly good (but shrinking) benefits. Hewlett Packard spin-off technology leader -- doesn't hurt on a resume. Excellent tech mentoring from 30-year "old hands."
Cons – 10 years of stagnation. 10 years of shrinking product lines and shrinking workforce. 10 years of
accelerated off-shoring. 10 years of "one more for the gipper." 10 years of gipper-only prosperity.
Advice to Senior Management – Can't shrink to greatness. Can't expect stockholders and employees to wait forever for "ROI" to
translate to higher stock prices and/or salaries. Good riddance to Adrian.

Current Employee – been working at Agilent Technologies
Pros – Great corporate culture and people. Laid back atmosphere. Opportunities to express opinions openly. Management has respect for employees.
Cons – Lack of pay and raises. Top down management and across the board decisions that affect all areas when the problem areas should be identifies and resolved.
Advice to Senior Management – Invest more money in your talented employees. Across the board (no US pay increases) decreases morale and does not motivate innovation and new ideas.

Current Employee – been working at Agilent Technologies
Pros – Flexible working hours
medical leave with pay for maternity leave
Credit union on ste at larger site
great co-workers
Cons – Not great raises if any
medical insurance premiums rising, only deductible med plans available so most costs dr visits and rxs are high, almost like not having insurance unitl you reach deductible. You could choose low deductible but it is like paying the deductible up front in the premium
I have heard this sort of plan called catastophe insurance b/c it doesn't help unless you have and emergency or need surgery etc.
used to have vacation camp site employees could use for free - company sold these
Advice to Senior Management – Pay employees better to keep up with economy and to retain employees. I have seen a lot of employees go to other companies b/c of this.
