I have been working at Air Products full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good salary, good people. Felt pride in Company when I started there almost 4 years ago. would have recommended the company to anyone.

    Cons

Now the CEO is currently seeking a "Cash is King" attitude. A lot of employees have been laid of or "Retired." Not sure where the future of Air Products will be.

    Advice to Management

No one seems to be safe but it seems like the worker bees are the ones getting let go. Good talent leaving. I don't see a lot of Interns wanting to work here.

I have been working at Air Products full-time

    Pros

The four 10 hr days are a plus and the pay is on board for the area. There are chances to advance quickly at the technician level to senior tech.

    Cons

Not much room for advancement after topping out as a technician or operator, policy after policy that restricts anyone from accomplishing any real work.

    Pros

There really are no pros to the company as a whole. The location where I work is good to provide what is needed for work. That is not the normal mentallity through the company. Last year the CEO withheld a significant amount of earned variable pay from all employees because he felt all could perform better. They are regularly impacting benefits/worklife in a negative fashion.

    Cons

Wages are below industry standard. Benfits are below industry standard. Facilities are severely understaffed leading to excessive expectations. Training of new employees is nonexistent. Advancement is rare. Lateral job moves to different applications are not usually allowed. Pay discrepencies are ridiculous depending on the area of the country you're in. People in California, Texas, and Louisiana for instance, holding the same job as mine, make 30-40% more money with better healthcare plans. This is because the job market, for certain dkill sets, in those areas is much more competitive. So, in areas, where competition for employees, in the necessary skill set, isn't as great, they scale wages and benefits way back.

    Advice to Management

Staff the plants so that people aren't still on call after working 50 hrs in a week. Pay consistantly throughout the company. Stop trying to profit from the company healthcare plan and make fees reasonable.

I worked at Air Products full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits, pay is ok for truck driver, interview process is pleasant

    Cons

Your at the disposal of a phone for 17hrs and don't ever speak to an actual person, they own you during your shift. Notice how all positive reviews come from Allentown pa.

    Advice to Management

Too big to change and people are not numbers and pieces

    Pros

Great Company! The opportunities and people were great. The pay was good and the benefits were even better. I really learned a lot in a short period of time.

    Cons

I worked in a non core business so the group i was in was dissolved. The company is very top heavy and slow to react. When I left, the new CEO was restructuring the company (which was long overdue).

    Advice to Management

A flat organization is more effective.
