I worked at Air Serv full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I am able to attend school in the mornings and work at night due to regular schedule. Usually I can get some homework completed too, as my airport is not that busy.

    Cons

Always understaffed. We have one manager for entire airport, and any upper management is mentioned, but never seen. (I've been here 4 years and I've seen him once.) Tablets always in short supply and general employee attitude is very negative, unless they are trying to talk to passengers for tips. Pay raises are non existent ($9/hr for a dispatcher for 4 years) and extreme favoritism.

    Advice to Management

Don't belittle employees, and rewards for great work would be appreciated.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Air Serv full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It was a fun environment and the coworkers were great. It can be a very supportive environment. The cultural diversity is awesome and the Senior staff is is great.

    Cons

The downside of this job is the super high stress level, crazy hours, and high turnover rate. The pay is very low for the amount of responsibility that you have to carry. Its a very demanding environment both mentally and physically.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management would be make good on your promises and promote from within. Be ethical in all your dealings and understand that your employees are stakeholders as well. Believe in your staff and they will believe in you. Incentives go a long way, and a clean public reputation as a great company to work for will always be better than losing good people to higher paying competitors.

I have been working at Air Serv part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - The only thing (not Things), that could be categorized at this job as an only "Pro" is the Tip you get from customers. If you work your best you can leave with an average of $50 a day with just tips.

    Cons

    - Unorganized position structure; It's not uncommon to find people getting assigned to a position they did not apply or were trained for. If they happen to make a mistake because of lack of knowledge/understanding they should expect a 3 day suspension without pay. - No position advancement (i know people that worked for the company for 8-12+ years with no career/position advancement) - Employees don't get treated well; The lack of properly maintained breakrooms, Constant teasing and unprofessional encounters are very common.

    Advice to Management

he best way to have a productive workforce is through nothing but sincerity and strong structure. Of which Air Serv lacks!
