Former Employee – worked at Air Serv full-time for less than a year
Pros – you get to see new people every day. Get to know the Delta agents, some of them are pretty nice so the time will go by faster if you just talk to people.
Cons – low pay for hard work and uncertain tips. If you work the closing shift and theres a delayed flight or 2, be prepared to stay late. workers who are lazy dont care/mess around/slack the whole time or stay in the office until a flight comes and take someones passenger whos been working the whole time then goes right back in after their done. TSA..need i say more. Rude passengers. New employees will get the late shift.
Advice to Senior Management – Weed out the slackers. Work on the training program for new employees. No one helped me to show me the basics of the terminal and i had to wing it with my first couple of passengers. Raise the pay to minimum wage with tips as a bonus. prospect has minimum wage. no matter how much hard work you put into it, you may not get any tips for such a low wage. low chance of getting promoted.

Current Employee – been working at Air Serv part-time for less than a year
Pros – Duties are pretty simple. I left once and they were very willingly to accept me back.
Cons – On the BSC side, you have very strict rules that apply to all FEDEX employees yet none of us drivers have any contact with the freight. The security and maintenance personnel have liberties such as wearing jewelry and carrying cellphone and they have consistent direct contact with freight. I don't feel AIR SERV represented it's employees fairly when they went to the table to negotiate what they want for their employees as FEDEX vendors.
Advice to Senior Management – Reconsider the restrictions your employees have that work inside FEDEX gates. Why is it that other vendors who have access to freight have much lenient protocol than your employees?

Former Employee – worked at Air Serv
Pros – Get to meet many interesting people that are traveling all over the world, as well as people from different cultures.
Cons – Demotes employees that are hard working from positions where they can get tips to positions where they get paid the same and can't get tips.
Advice to Senior Management – Don't demote a hard working employee by taking them from a minimum wage plus tips position to a minimum wage only position.

Current Employee – been working at Air Serv
Pros – We compensate better than other companies in our industry.
Cons – CEO is very derogatory and insulting. He feels better when he can rage on someone. There will be a mass exodus once the job market bounces back.
Advice to Senior Management – Management needs to learn how to coach and lead; not insult and direct. Extreme micromanagement.

Current Employee – been working at Air Serv
Pros – Dynamic
Never routine
Keeps you on your toes
Customer Service is baseline
Always work for your people - then they'll work for you.
Cons – Long hours - dedication
Not very predictable
Compensation/benefits are under developed - new company..
Advice to Senior Management – Create more incentives for your layman workers to perform at their optimum level.
Recruit only agressive customer service oriented people for the manual labor and listen to the advice of people fresh out of school enlisted in daily operations.

Former Employee – worked at Air Serv full-time
Pros – Company makes sure to have a Christmas party each year no matter what the financial situation is.
Cons – Corporate is a similar to a psych ward but with several employees having affairs with executives as the only way to get ahead. The industry has very thin margins but you would never know it with executives spending money like it is going out of style. Then the bills come in for the extravagant expenses & the field is left to try to find ways to pay for it.
Advice to Senior Management – At this point, the chairman needs to clean house of the executives and start over.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Former Employee – worked at Air Serv
Pros – All lobby agents treat each other like family
Cons – Poor management. Said they will adapt to your school schedule but does not. Even if given notice to take time off of work, they will call on that day and insist you on coming in. Did not get offered health insurance until a year after hire when told you will get insurance after 90 days.
