I have been working at AirG Wireless

    Pros

    Genuine and friendly team members
Flexible hours (depending on your team)
Open door policy (communication is easy)
Flat company structure - no hierarchy really
Management is engaged and hands-on with teams
Great benefits and corporate perks (i.e. food program, fun social events, wellness program)

    Cons

Very quiet work environment - could be more lively at times (but peace and quiet are appreciated as well)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stay in tune with your team members, continue to be accessible and transparent

I have been working at AirG Wireless full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Even though I work alone in London UK, airG management trusts me to work independently without daily oversight
Meeting performance targets means big payouts and bonuses
Work with international phone companies and building my business network globally

    Cons

There are only 20 or so of us working outside the main office
Communication with HQ is challenging (different time zones)
At times I don't talk to my manager for 3 weeks - he's managing too many people or is too busy

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire more line and middle managers for external employees
Not everyone can 'self manage' or 'self motivate' as Fred calls it

I have been working at AirG Wireless

    Pros

It's hard to believe that I started here over 8 years ago.. this company has grown a lot in that time. Sometimes things were challenging, but generally my experience has been very positive.

    Cons

Not everything the company has tried to build has worked. Then again that's not really a big surprise...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Review salaries twice a year instead of once per year.

I have been working at AirG Wireless full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    Really smart co-workers
    Big ambitious projects
Free cereal and fruit for breakfast
    Low politics environment

    Cons

Company has a LOT going on - need to trim some of the projects
My project manager is great, but I've heard some of the others are not so great
Slim on middle management, makes it tough for those of us who need a 'boost' during slow times

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increase the role and number of middle managers

I worked at AirG Wireless full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

There are many activities in this company which is very exciting for the young people and it provide a connection between employees.

    Cons

The salary is not high. I think it is below average.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It should pay more attention to maintain value employees to keep the company grow up.

I have been working at AirG Wireless full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    Free breakfast
    Great people
    Interesting projects
    Great project managers
Great bonuses (TIPS) every 4 months

    Cons

Some parts of technology platform are 'old'
Business has had some customers since 2001, and the software still needs support
Timelines sometimes VERY short - "Happy Friday - Get this done by Monday, customer needs it!"
Otherwise my experience has been very good so far....

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to avoid getting tech team into 'last minute work' situations
Otherwise keep up the good work

I have been working at AirG Wireless full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great events - almost monthly (lunches, play land for the family, haloween etc)
Great people - some smart and really friendly people
Job Security - even though CEO acts frugal, sales team makes good money so there's lots of stability
Bonus (TIP) plan - every semester if team or individual targets met, you get a payout - pretty nice perk

    Cons

Not much training - you're expected to know how to solve problems right away
Very long hiring - took too long to go from first interview to final hire (lots of people involved in tech tests)
Same team multiple products - the same teams work on multiple products, which gets stressful (spread thin)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Generally I'm very happy here. But I would recommend not making 1 team be responsible for 3 products. Either cancel the products that won't work, or hire more people so each team is focused on just ONE product.

This is not to slight the company progress. The past 2 years things have improved a lot and the company is doing well again.

I have been working at AirG Wireless full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

New and improved management - things a lot more transparent.
Constant stream of challenging problems to solve.
Very good bonus program (limited to people who deliver).
    Company finally growing again.

    Cons

    'Darwinian' environment not for everyone.
Lots of 'complainers' worked here in the past - luckily fred is cleaning up.
    Should clean up faster.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you want a real 'Darwinian' environment, fire the under performing employees faster!
