Pros
physical avtivity was always a plus, worked part time so it did not interfere with my normal life. night hours were good too
Cons
managers and supervisors are not intelligent. pilots are tools too. the benefits package is not that good either
Advice to Senior Management
make this business work. charge more for what we do. out with the old, in with the new on the frontlines
Pros
-Invaluable single pilot work experience
-Very independent style of work. Not micro-managed on a constant basis
-Great place to work if you like traveling alot.
Cons
-Unstable work due to the nature of the business
-Not a company to work for if you have a family
Pros
Pay is abysmal, yet better than passenger airline starting salaries. Very good group of people working here. Good health care package.
Cons
We're all being pushed around by new management to reduce cost and improve profit margins. Base reassignments with no relocation compensation, reduced pay, no upgrade potential or internal growth potential in 10+ years. With consumer commodities becoming more expensive the frozen pay is barely enough to sustain a life in upper-level poverty (crime-ridden apartment neighborhoods).
Advice to Senior Management
Overhaul pay system to reflect hours worked, streamline per diem pay to increase the take-home pay of the pilot group (pay more in per diem, less or same in salary). Stop sending out communication with 'exceptions' for the pilot group in regards to holiday compensation, time-off bonus, negatively affecting the family life of pilots. The company treats general labor with more respect than pilots. Stop treating pilots as a second-class employee group. When is the battering going to stop?
Pros
AirNet has a laid back, casual dress atmosphere which makes it comfortable when working. With the close small staff, you get to personally know a lot of the employees. The pay is pretty nice from hire, depending the position & the type of work we deal with is very interesting.
Cons
With the close small staff, you get to personally know a lot of the employees, which is not only a positive, but a negative as well. There's is favoritism on the job and is not necessarily hidden from other employees, which has caused good workers to be removed while letting poor workers stay. When changes are made, they aren't always thoroughly worked through before presenting them to the employees to handle or perform. This causes a lot of unnecessary frustration that could've possibly been avoided if they asked more of the opinions and/or suggestions of the employees that would be performing that function.
Advice to Senior Management
The senior staff is alright, but they don't necessarily give enough recognition & compensation as they should to the people that essentially do the main bulk of the job
