    Pros

Lots of opportunity to take on new projects

    Cons

Pretty scaled down in staffing so you can easily find yourself overextended/overworked. Now during the post-merger phase so depending where you live or if you're absorbed into Southwest Airlines.

I have been working at AirTran Holdings part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Working part-time, free travel, no overtime demands, great money, nice people to work with. The work is fairly easy making reservations and booking travel. It gets a little rough when flights get cancelled or late arrivals. I particularly appreciated the supervisors and their team leaders were usually on hand for any problems or difficult situations.

    Cons

A little difficult to move to other departments. Sometimes customers were frantic.

I have been working at AirTran Holdings

    Pros

    -Flight benefits
    -Flexible scheduling
    -Coworkers are like family

    Cons

-Pay is subpar, you can be there for years and still be poverty level
-No work life balance, say goodbye to having free nights and weekends
-No room for advancement. This is a job, not a career. Management plays a constant game of musical chairs and moves all over the country, but lower level workers are never promoted. Hard work is not encouraged, and will be ostracized. This is a stagnant company with complacent individuals. Great if you're looking for a job, particularly entry-level, but if you have any intention of bettering yourself, get out as quickly as possible.

Forced overtime if they need you
    Limited off days
    Hierarchy and extreme bureaucracy

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

Company appreciates hard work, determination, and attention to detail.

    Cons

Very unpredictable future and job security.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay closer attention to market trends and customer needs. A lot of frequent travelers were often happy with your services, but would sometimes travel with other means if more cost effective. Also, revision of off peak revenue periods in the year and action towards those could have resulted in a most efficient operation, and could have been a better revenue generating stations.
