Pros – Exciting job, challenging, work at an airport, ramp safety is stressed in training, good field supervisors and on the job training.

Former Employee – worked at Aircraft Service International
Pros – The commitment, respect and hardwork of all the employees and staff working together. Everyone Acknowledging and respecting the safety of everyone involved in aircraft operations.
Cons – The work schedules are the main downside. You have to be a person that does not mind working; whether its day or night. Sometimes there are mandatory overtime depending on the weather and there is usually no excuse to be excused!

Pros – Networking Networking Networking. You are constantly around airline employees and management. It is a very simple job, and there's as much overtime that one can handle.
Cons – There's a reason why there is so much overtime, and that reason is because they cannot keep fuelers. They start you at $8.30/hr, but tell you that you that you are making more in the interview. They treat their employees horribly. They set you up for failure. We drive around un-heated/air conditioned fueling trucks from the 1970's while management gets brand new vehicles every year. They are unionized which is an extra $40.00/mo out of your measly paycheck, but the union is in bed with management and leaves the employees out to dry. Benefits don't start until after 6 months of employment, and then they are $90.00/mo for the very basic plan. They don't provide rain gear or shorts, yet expect us to work in FL in the middle of summer, and be happy to do it.
Advice to Senior Management – You need to treat your employees better. Plain and simple. There's a big problem when you lose over 20 fuelers at one station in less than 2 months. We are the face of your company, and we are your direct contact with the airlines.

Pros – It can be a dangerous job but it is satisfying. Human Resources hired me when I really needed a job and I am thankful for that.
Cons – Fueler pay starts at $8/hr and less. A fueler gets little respect and less pay for the job they are expected to do. Turnover is fairly high, if they paid more they might get a fueler with a little better work ethic.
Advice to Senior Management – Offer a higher starting rate to fuelers, they are your lifeblood. You would retain employees and not have to constantly train new fuelers.
