I have been working at Airline Tariff Publishing Company (More than 10 years)

    Pros

fairly good compensation for airline industry, good benefits, some employees permitted flex schedule/work from home 1-2 days/week. Casual attire. Company laptop provided.

    Cons

plenty of backstabbing, arguing between managers, passing on blame to others. Favoritism. Review process discouraging because "standard" is set so high (no incentive to push yourself because you'll never be "above average"). travel benefits difficult to use in todays environment. Since company provides laptop, some departments expected to work from home when you can not make it to work during your regular shift. This has all but eliminated "calling in sick".

    Pros

    There are no pros whatsoever

    Cons

Do not EVEN waste your time in interviewing for this company. They do not value talent at all. They just need a person who obeys to their "made" rules.

    Advice to Management

Try to be open-minded and consider new ideas for innovation if you want your company to grow.

I worked at Airline Tariff Publishing Company full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The company is not for profit, so they have to spend the budget each year. The employees are great. owned by the airlines.

    Cons

lots of politics, no variable compensation, back stabbing between groups and managers. Little ownership to issues - pass it on to someone else. if you interview, ask probing questions about previous people in your position. (how long they were employed). Little trust of employees. Promotions are almost non-existent.

    Advice to Management

Do not believe everything you hear without fact checking. There are a lot of lies and fabrication of the truth spun in the organization.

    Pros

Most of the "line" people are dedicated, hard working good people HR is a good group and tries hard to take care of ATPCO employees Flexible hours Casual atmosphere

IT upper management has created a negative, toxic environment Extremely political atmosphere In some cases employees have come to be expected to work nights and weekends regularly

    •Relaxed work environment •Flexible schedule •Flex Fridays

    Cons

•Basic 9-5 jobs •Fulfills basic diversity criteria, •The office is the epitome of basic corporate America [think the movie 'Office Space] •There is obvious preferential treatment to those who fit better "aesthetically" within the environment as well as "culturally" •Not much opportunity for growth; management stays until they retire

    Advice to Management

•Management is outdated and out of touch,

I worked at Airline Tariff Publishing Company full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The people were great to work with, the management is fairly flexible with work schedules and good benefits. The office itself has been renovated over the years and is located near Herndon, VA. The technology in use is fairly up to date. Career opportunities are available.

    Cons

The salaries are fairly low. I believe the management team should be doing more to increase the salaries of the employees. A lot the management has been there forever and will not change their thinking.

    Advice to Management

Pay the employees what they are worth.
