...
Pros

Advice to Senior Management

Pros

Good place to show your hard working abilities.
Cons
Not enough appreciation for the work employees put in.
Uneven distribution of recognition.
Employees don't get enough insight into upper management's future plans.
Advice to Senior Management
Need to be more transparent to its own employees.
Recognizing the hard work put in by right people.
Pros
Cutting edge technology with the femtocell products. As an engineer If you a interested in overseeing offshore design in the far east this is the place for you.
Cons
The decision to merge / be acquired by a with the hedge fund (S.A.C. Private Capital Group, LLC, GSO Capital Partners LP, Sankaty Advisors LLC and ZelnickMedia) changed the dynamic of what was a great company to work for. The founders and early investors cashed out. The company was split into two groups, EVDO and Femto. With the changes the bloodletting began. Femto is being run like a startup with management raising new capital and engineering being outsource to the India and the Far east. The people who helped build the company from the beginning are being let go, there is no loyalty by management, morale is dismal.
Advice to Senior Management
The employees that will remain after the dust settles from the merger need to have some confidence that they have a future at Airvana. The company management needs to define the direction it is taking to the remaining employees. A roadmap to sucess has been missing since the merger was completed. This needs to be defined ASAP.
