Pros
Good way to find part time work in a difficult economy.
Cons
Not always upfront about future opportunities
Not a lot of contact with employees in long term placements
Advice to Senior Management
Be upfront with your temp employees about the job market, if there is nothing out there, say as much so they know that they may end up unemployed for an extended period of time.
Pros
Experience working for a variety of companies
Cons
The pay is not comparable to other temporary agencies
Advice to Senior Management
Provide feedback on open positions.
Pros
It has name brand recognition for its Finance division
Ability to assist people in the career path
Opportunity to work with great clients and learn about every industry in the market
Cons
Poor leadership
Lack of respect from Senior Management
No training after your initial training
No growth
Consistent record of promoting those who fell in line with what management wanted them to do, versus those who were good at their jobs and had the potential to be great leaders in the company.
Advice to Senior Management
Live in the life of the people you constantly micro manage and task with daily and weekly reporting responsibilities that take them away from doing their job and actually producing; train your staff consistently IN PERSON, not via independent on line videos while they are seated at their desks with headphones on and no interaction; pick ONE strategy and stick to it - the constant change in direction and initiatives before they have had time to actually show whether they will work or not, just make us look incompetent int he market place.
Pros
Very professional, they have good connections in San Francisco, make sure to be firm on the salary. They give you about half of what they charge to the client.
Cons
They will try to hook you up with random jobs like filing for a week or two. Don't take them, it's really annoying work paying almost nothing.
Pros
-Learn how to build relationships
-Compensated for hard work (Not with more work but with $$$)
-Great way to learn about local business
-Ability to educate candidates/clients and help them improve their hiring/employment search processes
Cons
-Work/Life Balance (Plan on working long hours)
Pros
Earning potential; fun work environment.
Cons
Changing direction, culture and vague direction of senior leadership. Recently merged with 2 large companies so top to bottom leadership will change. Lots of internal dissent and drama.
Advice to Senior Management
Retain and value your employees- offer advanced training or at least opportunities to train others and contribute but overall great work environment if you like a fast -paced team with a startup feel.
Pros
A lot of work was on my own, and no one breathing over my shoulder which was good.
Cons
Often cramped workspaces and being a temporary job atmosphere there was not a lot of opportunity for networking.
Advice to Senior Management
Make your people feel more valued.
Pros
Ajilon still offers a solid work-life balance where management will not question days off or time needed for family issues. As long as this isn't excessive and you are performing you will have some work-life balance. The benefits plan is competitive and their office space is state-of-the-art.
Cons
When their parent company Adecco took over the comp plan was changed. There is now no way for a specialty recruiter/sales rep to make the kind of money they once could. All of their major competitors are offering a more lucrative comp plan. Also, for new hires...the training program has taken a turn for the worse. You'll do abut 50 on-line traning moduels with little role play and interaction with management. From there you are expected to jump in and must maintained a two hour call block of 30 connects per day. This is fine if you have a support team. Unfortunately, all of the highly successful mentors that spent 10+ years with the company have left now that Adecco is operating it like a high volume low margin business.
Advice to Senior Management
Develop your people and they will produce for you. Be honest about the compensation plan and the merger with MPS.
Pros
Competent and professional office staff, they are usually helpful
Provided some good job opportunities
Offered some good career development resources
Have a lot of flexibility
easy to work with
Cons
Sometimes there was poor communication about changes in my job
Account managers didn't always have accurate knowledge about clients or the clients' needs.
Benefits are not very good.
Advice to Senior Management
Overall, I enjoyed working for ajilon more than any other staffing company. The main thing that needs to be improved is the relationships with clients. Especially what the client's needs are and changes happening at the clients.
Pros
entrepeneurial
ability to make our own decisions and work cohesively
used to have a great team oriented, fun environment that rewarded staff and communication was effective
Cons
as the company became more corporate (the parent company was more involved) it has become all about number, results, doesnt care for employees, work/life balance or the general wellbeing of the employees.
Advice to Senior Management
get back to your roots- it was why you had such strong talent before. it was a great place to work..
