    I worked at Al Jaber

    Pros

had a chance to work in a huge local Group, with various lines of businesses. had a chance to work in a UAE local environment (due to being in the chairman office) yet directly with a Western Group CEO , got the best of two worlds.

    Cons

it was really hard to keep a work -life balance due to working hours and distanced location. for a mother of two, working their is very time consuming.

    Cons

The weather condition is unfriendly especially when your duty is outside door. Getting a work licence all consumes time before u can acquire it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Our company would grow a bit more if they encourage proper mixing of nationalities in the management staff. In other words, people from different nationalities should be selected to fill up the management offices. Different nationalities were endowed differently in term of IQ, INNOVATIVENESS, CREATIVITY AND ENERGY.

I have been working at Al Jaber

    Pros

The diversity and complexity of the group helps in getting exposed in your professional career. A big company with a lot of potential. The different business units cover all business related to construction and makes the group really integrated

    Cons

Culture and mentality. It is the limit of the group. Things move slowly and it is frustrating for people who want to make a change. Few women cover roles of leadership, a man oriented company

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    To improve communication

I have been working at Al Jaber as a contractor (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Al Jaber Est. is big company to work with. If you left the company due to any reason, you have the opportunity to join again.

    Cons

There is no downside with this company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Former Employee - Manager in Bur Dubai (United Arab Emirates)
Former Employee - Manager in Bur Dubai (United Arab Emirates)

I worked at Al Jaber full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    On time salary
No overtime- if you do overtime, you can get compensation in the next days.

    Cons

    Arrogant, selfish managers
Frequent transfers- you won't stay in one place, sometimes not even a month, and you will hate working like that. I know people in Al Jaber Optical who has been transferred more than 12 times in an year.

Seldom teamwork, ' coz you have individual target and you should beat your mates sometimes in a very hard way to get customers..so all you'll have is just colegues, and no friends.

They just need business, and no matter wheather you are sick or hit by a car while crossing the road or anything, you should be in the showroom on time..else you will get a salary cut.

    Relatively lower pay scale.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

-Plz stop considering your employees as animals, 'coz they are not.
-If you want a better productivity, make your employees happy and satisfied. When they are happy, there'll be a positive vibe in your outlets, and you will start seeing the magic then.
-Need consistent CMEs to make your staff knowledge updated/refreshed.
