    Pros

    Health insurance, dental, vision, benefits.

    Cons

No transparency, cliquey, no advancement unless your part of the clique, uneducated mean people in Anchorage, and these are the managers.

    Advice to Management

Get over yourselves, it isn't all about you, treat people with kindness instead of ruling by intimidation. Stop being bullies.

  3. Deplorable, very conservative, top down approach that doesn't find the story to both sides.

    Pros

As a whole a great solid company.

    Cons

The employees they have allowed to advance within their branch administration department are poorly trained, unethical, deceitful and are pulling the wool over their managements eyes.

    Advice to Management

Train your Management and don't promote based on performance alone.

    Pros

Average pay the work required. Okay benefits.

    Cons

Unprofessional: management look out only for themselves. If you have strong moral value do not work there. They will tell you one thing: do what they say not what they do. They are full of emotional and unstable management working team. I will not recommend your money there if you have moral ethic value.

    Advice to Management

Professionalism is required. You need to stop play favoritism and make a judgment against others because of their high moral stand and their faith. Be fair with the schedule. Be open minded toward other culture and educated yourself for not all people are the same as your small town Bellingham. We are different in color, culture and we have faith: but not wiered.

    Pros

The salary and benefits were good. Job security was also good due to nominal accountability. The retirement contributions were OK.

    Cons

No room for career growth based on work ethic and abilities. Poor leadership from CIO, senior management, and most middle management results in aimless, wasted efforts and badly implemented solutions with a general lack of caring. Nominal accountability. Dishonest management. Unmotivated, continually frustrated employees. If you are looking for an opportunity to learn new technology and grow your career then do not apply here. If you are looking for an opportunity to collect a paycheck at the expense of your skills deteriorating then apply here.

    Advice to Management

Be honest and straight forward with your employees. To reward their hard work you often need to work hard in return. When you only look out for your own career you do not look out for theirs.

    Cons

Upper management is absolutely ridiculous!!! if you are not part of their "clique" you can basically say goodbye to any possibility of moving up. They will use and abuse you until you either give up or get fired!!!! STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!

    Advice to Management

Plain and simple GET A CLUE!!!!!!!

    Pros

Member owened. Low fees. Very kind members for the most part. Good benefits. Decent pay for this field ive seen so far.

    Cons

Heavy handed management. Even when you are the highest producing in Sales and excel in many ways, it still is not enough. They work upon the fear tactic. At some point or another there is always a target on someones back. A LOT OF DRAMA.

    Advice to Management

Be kind to those that work so hard for you.

    Pros

This is a good place to learn about the banking industry, the medical and retirement benefits were nice, and training was well-done.

    Cons

I worked for multiple managers at Alaska USA, none of which I would ever want to come across again. Everyone from Assistant Managers to Senior Financial Services Representatives to the new hires at each location walked around in a constant state of paranoia, because anyone from the Branch Manager position and up would run things with an iron fist and use intimidation and subtle threats to keep employees in control. None of my coworkers felt comfortable with their jobs at any point in time. This place does not give employees a sense of job security. Toward the end of my time with the company, I spent my lunch breaks crying because my manager was so rude and condescending to her team. The worst part is that the upper management within the company saw her as a star Branch Manager, because her location had high sales. The fact that her staff were miserable and her employee turnover was high didn't seem to matter as much. It's difficult to respect a company that places such little value on employee happiness.

    Advice to Management

Management really needs to work on their intimidation factor. Ruling employees with intimidation and threats is never acceptable, but it's happening at your branches.
