Pros
Good pay compared to other Banks. People friendly. They look out for their customers in most cases. Large labour shortage makes you look like a genius compared to some of the people working there. Good working atmosphere and friendly management and co-workers.
Cons
Small bank with limited capacity compared to the big banks.
some very strange lending rules at times. some staff have no idea what they are doing at times as the turnover is high in most areas on the front lines and in support - but is generally because it is alberta labour shortage in effect limiting the selection of employees.
Advice to Senior Management
A little more clarity in the operations aspect of the company and what is expected of people working there. There is a large disconnect between the competence of some departments versus others and therefore they tend to rely on the more adept sections of the company to shoulder the load and take responsibility to fix things. This inadvertently puts stress on those employees as they feel obligated to solve problems to help customers and after awhile they stop caring about their jobs and the importance of problem solving when they have to do it every day.
Pros
Low individual performance expectations vs peergroup.
Cons
A poisonous corporate culture, primarily due a large # of Sr. Management promoted far past their capabilities. Pettiness and personal preservation are the norm from some Sr managers. Executives don't hear truthful messages because Sr Management tells them what they want to hear, with Sr. managers often shooting the messenger when non-positive information is given to them. You can expect little or no support from Sr. Management for any difficulties that arise, the buck passes downhill.
Advice to Senior Management
Promote on potential and capability, not long-time no-wave service.
