I have been working at Albertsons part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great environment, friendly co workers. Room for growth, and great for gaining experience.

    Cons

The gradual pay raise is horrible for new contract workers. You can eventually make good money at Albertsons but it takes forever (10 cents every 600 hours). If you enter a non grocery department in the store (lower paying position). Its hard to get back into a grocery position (higher paying position).

I worked at Albertsons part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people to work with, plenty of opportunities to be promoted, flexible scheduling.

    Cons

Customers are not always pleasant, spend a lot of time outside, clean the messes people make in the store.

    Advice to Management

develop a rotation schedule for collecting carts from parking lot.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Albertsons full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Not micro managed. In store and LP Management treated LPS's with respect and realized our value.

    Cons

No real cohesiveness or direction within the loss prevention program. Program seemed disjointed at times with little continued training or communication. .

    Advice to Management

set goals, communicate more effectively, reward or at least acknowledge achievements, lead and demonstrate direction

I worked at Albertsons part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good environment, flexible with your schedule, easy job

    Cons

Long shifts where work becomes repetitive

    Advice to Management

Focus on hiring employees that will actually do what they need to do.

I worked at Albertsons (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fun environment & Great co-workers, I really enjoyed coming to work because of the people I was surrounded with. The company worked with my school schedule and was very flexible in regard to hours.

    Cons

Other workers often no-call, no-showed, creating backed-up lines at high-volume hours. The manager I worked with sucked at scheduling and continued to screw mine up after multiple availability submissions. Transferred managers from other stores instead of hiring from within.

    Advice to Management

Tell your employees that you appreciate them. If they do a good job, tell them.

I have been working at Albertsons (More than 5 years)

    Pros

If you want to move up in the company, Albertsons makes it extremely easy as long as you're a hard worker. You make good/decent money for the 40 hour work week required. You will also be apart of a union with great benefits including health insure for only $7 a week. This is unheard of nowadays.

    Cons

The fellow management is really the only con. Most are ungrateful and whine a lot about their job and the amount of hours they put in. For the most part, they only work 40 like you because upper management doesnt want to pay overtime.

    Advice to Management

Get more feedback from middle management. They are direct lines to your guest and have important information to give. They genuinely value their job, most often, and want to help.

    I worked at Albertsons part-time

    Pros

Provided good basic customer service experience to use with future jobs/career. Employee discount was nice. Flexible schedule was great and made it a great college job.

    Cons

Pay wasn't great and raises aren't given after a certain point in the same position. Heavy lifting and cart pushing might be difficult for some people especially doing carts in the heat and cold.

    Advice to Management

Better pay would lead to more long term and loyal employees. The company is good but it's hard for people to stay long term because of the pay.

    Pros

Albertsons overall has great benefits, and opportunities for advancement in store once you're in and there is a new job opening.

    Cons

The particular store i work at, management is terrible. They think of only themselves and are lackadaisical in their training. They tend to be rude and get way to involved in your life. But that's just my store. I was promoted twice and i am still making what i started as.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to train and be respectful to others.
