Advice to Senior Management
None
Pros
Learn the latest new technology.
Cons
Politics plays an important role in the office. I can not bear.
Advice to Senior Management
The same cons as above.
Pros
-Great pay, good learning experience, HR is always there for you and confidentiality is valued, lots of great opportunities ahead for the firm.
Cons
Alcatel-Lucent operated under a silo mentality and never really encouraged a friendly atmosphere, which was somewhat depressing. Benefits were lacking and the people all kept to themselves, unless you have a decent manager
Advice to Senior Management
Encourage more engagement with other employees and the relationship between individual contributor and manager. Must learn how to motivate employees and include more incentives.
Pros
- Company is growing and is venturing in new areas and so quite a few opportunities exist, but most of them seem to be overseas
- Excellent work-life balance, flexible work hours and management (in general) tends to be very understanding
- You get an opportunity to work with some of best in the industry (sorry for the cliché, but that's the truth) and so a lot to learn
Cons
- In some groups communication between management and employees is not good
- Promotions seem very hard to come by and no path for an employee to grow
Advice to Senior Management
- Employee first policy is good, but at lower levels that isn't necessarily getting implemented.
- Favoritism exists and there is no scope for an employee to grow, especially in the US (overseas it may be good, but here in the US no such thing is happening). Every year we fill out the employee reviews and our 'road-map to growth', but that seems to be getting worked on
- Internal job transfers are happening, but requirements are very stringent and literally no scope for on-the-job training (so vertical transfers are difficult)
Pros
Leader in wireless space and have a choice to work different product lines. Organization encourages individuals to participate in technical forums which is other than assigned tasks.
Cons
No clear visibility on career growth in senior positions. Salary needs to be on par with the competition which is not the case currently.
Advice to Senior Management
India and China are two major markets where there is huge potential for business so focus more on these two countries and increase the business and revenue.
Pros
Exciting work in general. Very good teams to work with. Feeling of working for a successful company. All in all a nice place to be.
Cons
Changes may be slow to happen. Some old practices need to go and got adapt to new methods and processes for a modern work place.
Advice to Senior Management
More cohesiveness needed between geographically spread groups. Need to enforce collaboration between teams more effectively.
