Pros
Big company with important support
Cons
Too much processes, loss of efficiency
Advice to Senior Management
None
Pros
The name of the company and the salary i received
Cons
Not much work to do , moreover it is not good to work in big company as intern.
Advice to Senior Management
It is very good to work with them
Pros
Not many, and getting worse. The bad global situation is the only reason most people are sticking it out.
Cons
No leadership, all politics, very poor misguided decisions being made by incompetent senior managers. Executing on all the wrong fronts, a lot of re-arranging of deck chairs. Management at headquarters in France is in a state of paralysis. The CEO are B-C players at business but world class at politics and self promotion. Really an awful mess and getting worse.
Advice to Senior Management
Focus on business and forget your little empires. Fire 2/3 of non-product & non-revenue related people. How many useless layers of admin are we feeding? Stop making it up as you go along, clients and employees do not believe a word you say.
Pros
Opportunities for experience in regional and global roles. There are some good people to work with, with whom you can learn.
Cons
Once in, people remain there for ever to form clubs and play politics - low refresh of people and ideas. Poor execution of Alcatel & Lucent merger leading to poor market performance against competitors
Advice to Senior Management
Get rid of the dead wood, encourage more refresh of people. Reduce hierarchy and "clubs" and look after the good staff. Reduce complexity.
Pros
Technology company with a lot of breadth
There could be opportunities, logically
Cons
Hard to work in a company that is under heavy pressure, and whose propects never seem to improve
Competing against China is a losing game
Advice to Senior Management
Fix what is broken in the company, improve the recognition and communication, put an end to the management privileges and their lack of competence and accountability
Pros
There are some talented employees who could make a positive difference, but only if the untalented, of whome there are more, get moved out.
Cons
Very bad senior managment who are all old boys club from ecole polytechnique and who lack even basic business skills. They are technocrats.
Advice to Senior Management
Central planning sunk the USSR, and it will sink ALU. You have no idea what is going on in your company because your focus is on measuring irrelevant data. You continue to allow mediocre unsuccessful people to remain, and penalise prodcutive people as a result as they are forced to deal with these. Your focus should be on letting your successful employees run the business.
Pros
Great balance between work and personal life.
Cons
There isn't much emphasis and opportunities on career development of the employees.
Advice to Senior Management
There must be programmes to develop the professional aspects of the employees.
Pros
incumbent supplier to major telcos, strong market position and high technical skills available within the company
multicultural environment with some career opportunities abroad ; a very polite and amiable work environment where criticism is not the norm
Cons
disorganized company with lack of focus on customer needs and satisfaction
poor management and execution skills ; demotivated staff ; complexity of internal processes ; absolute lack of comprehensive hr management strategy ;
Advice to Senior Management
Respect for the past and hope for the future.
Pros
the technology/product are good as any in market place. Good enginners willing to help and share knowledge.
Cons
Direction not decided, and reorganisation for the sake of. My boss is OK, but his boss do not inspire, and need people lessons.
Advice to Senior Management
Stop changing "direction" all the time.
