I worked at Alchemist full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

None. If you are a retired individual willing to compromise on your values and looking for job security you should join Alchemist,

    Cons

Lacks professional managers to lead its businesses. Sycophancy and connections are more important to remain in the company than competency and skill. Senior management churn in the company every 2 years is almost 100% preventing the company from moving ahead. Goals of company promoters are unlcear hence making the company a drifting ship.

I have been working at Alchemist full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

multiple verticals of businesses, promoter keeps investing in new projects, income from unknown sources.

    Cons

All the business ventures are loss making or not not earning, even though promoter of the company keeps investing. Several ventures have team of corporate but no projects in hand. Company is paying huge salaries to corporate team in ventures where they have no work/ projects for years. They come office for gossips, smoke breaks, chatting. Employment is based on personal contacts, so everyone knows each other from their previous company, relations of family members. No value for talent. If you have joined with references, you get the salary over and above the designation. Doesn't matter you if you don't have talent or experience, if a senior official is known to you, you get the job. Even new vacancies/ designations are created just to employ someone known.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They know what's wrong, but they don't want to correct it. References, chamcha giri is the only key to success in this company, talents can be outsourced.

I have been working at Alchemist full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

A select handful of people that you can learn from

    Cons

Too much scrutiny by top management / COO sits on the shop floor - where in the world does that happen? / All other outlets of the organization are ignored / Business plans are made quarterly instead of a 3 or 5 year plan / Lack of trust / Petty politics take the majority of your time / Only responsibility and no power or authority / Professionals are not treated the way they should / Upper managements lack of work ethics are mirrored on the operations staff / A lot of potential but due to the lack of motivation success will never be achieved.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get your act together and fix your work ethics before pointing fingers - to abuse the power you have is the easiest thing in the book!
