    Up and Down

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsPromotions based on work accomplished not who you know.

ConsSmall company still going through lots of growing pains. Having worked for the company a long time, sat and watched ever changing management making the same mistakes over and over again.

Advice to Senior ManagementSettle down, streamline the overheads. Don't over hire at corporate level EXPECTING the business to grow into it. Wait for the business to grow and then hire as needed. Also, walk the walk don't just talk the talk.

    Struggling Company with poor management

Corporate Position (Former Employee) Colorado Springs, CO

ProsIt was a great company to work for. Coworkers are the best.

ConsManagement is unqualified for positions. Do not understand basic How to Run things. Always in a fire mode. Management does not want opinions.
Industry is very competitive and Management has no clue on how to turn a company around. They worry too much on an executive signon bonus of a "buddy" than the lack of performance from the said "buddy"

They go on a hiring frenzy when they know they will have to do mass layoffs a month later. No strategy and unfortunately they are taking advantage of the parent company and shareholders. With the current management and lack of good oversight from parent company I DO NOT recommend working here. You only put your family at risk.

Turnover is extremely high. It was extremely high before layoff by employee choice and even higher with layoff.

I know of no employee that actually likes working there. They have to because there skillset is limited outside or the job market is small for them. They do not work there because they like it. Please RUN. The only ones that like it are the "Executive" level that are paid to like it.

Advice to Senior ManagementMy advice to Parent Company TAC. Stop given executive chances to prove themselves. It has been too long. Look back at what made AMS successful and focus on that. Get John Baily's advice, who was the last true successful President of AMS. Not the current President Mr. Cole

Aleut Management Services, once a proud company could get there again with some time, effort and good leadership.

Business Development (Former Employee) Colorado Springs, CO

ProsThey pay better than most in the government services field. Their vacation policy is awesome. You don't build vacation days, you just take what you need and they let you know if it's too much. This works to the benefit of the company though as they don't have any liability on the books for pay out.

ConsThe management staff is a group of folks that are always looking for folks to agree with them. The truth has a hard time finding it's way to management. They continue to change their focus on what to do and when to do it so it is difficult to make progress when your plan is changed every six months. The turn over rate for employees (outside the core group) is very high. With the recent change in Senior Management, the remaining staff is looking over their shoulder every day and wondering if they will still have a job. Expect significant downsizing in the next few months.

Advice to Senior ManagementTry to find some professionals that can help to lead the company and stand by your word. When you tell someone something, follow through. Make the appraisal system worth the paper it's written on. Choose wisely who you rely on for information and do some of your own research to determine if what you are told is correct. Establish and adhere to a business ethics policy.

Human Resources Liason for one of their government contracts.

    Human Resources Manager (Former Employee)

ProsThis company has several government contracts throughout the U.S.

ConsThey are not very flexible with salary and benefits due to contract requirements. Many of their employees are retired military and therefore do not need medical benefits, yet they are required to take them as part of the employment package. Many of those employees would rather have the additional compensation. If you "need" the benefits, they are great!

Advice to Senior ManagementTreat "ALL" of your employees throughout all of your contracts as well as you treat upper management and corporate employees.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
