Advice to Senior Management

Pros
Excellent building, location, good variety of highly intelligent people (outside of marketing) to interact with and learn from. Subsidized cafeteria, excellent benefits package, and flex hours.
Cons
Poor management hiring practices. Unacceptable favoritism, an affair that resulted in extreme nepotism, and generally poor HR involvement when conflict arose. Not a very challenging environment to work in for sales-driven individuals. No marketing strategy--simply sales support
Advice to Senior Management
Stop hiring people who have zero communications skills or savvy when it comes to dealing with a diverse set of personalities. Stop spending time and money on wasteful endeavors that result in no revenue or process improvements. Stop touting the company in its image 20 years ago and build a truthful one applicable to today's realities.

Cons
People with no financial or software development knowledge have recently been assigned senior management positions. They are making very poor decisions and alienating the employees. This new management has created a poisonous environment and many good people have left Algo in the recent couple of years.
Advice to Senior Management
listen to your employees and reward the people who do the real work.
Pros
* Flexible hours.
* Opportunity to learn a lot for junior staff.
* In general, people are very polite.
* In general, people will share some knowledge.
Cons
* Lack of planning and management.
* Salary is acceptable to low, compared to similar companies in the same industry.
* No work life balance,
* No opportunity to advance, unless you've spent a long time with the company.
* Very few Software Engineers are actually good.
* No code reviews, virtually no communication, isolation.
* Most employees don't really understand how their work impact the business, they just write code.
Advice to Senior Management
* Instead of being focused on quick deliveries, the management must dedicate reasonable time to provide working and high quality software products.
* Poor planning and decision making will drive you to an end. Lots of good resources left already, but yet it doesn't look like a warning sign.
Pros
Great culture of respect and reward. There has been a big emphasis in the last 2 years on improving morale and recognition, which has been very well received. The company really does value it's culture and now strives to protect it.
Cons
Sometimes long hours, due to clients with demanding requirements. But this is offset by a flexible work/life balance policy, and the ability to mitigate travel with working from home and other flexible options. Respect for the individual is important to the firm.
Advice to Senior Management
To continue the progress made in furthering the culture of change and dynamism within the company. To also further strenghten client trust and cooperation.
