    Pros

Align has a wonderful culture and a phenomenal group of employees. The culture is somewhat collegiate with a great team dynamic. Collaboration is expected and teams work very well together. Senior engineers are encourage to share knowledge and mentor less experienced engineers. The project managers are very effective and protect the best interests of their team and ensure the engineers’ hard work is recognized. I have had the opportunity to work on great projects. Learning opportunities are plentiful and I receive training regularly. I have earned 6 certifications in 3 years and they were all payed for by the firm. This is a great place to work where your hard work is appreciated, recognized and rewarded.

    Cons

The only criticism I have is that I am occasionally required to do support. It is not excessive and I was aware of this when I joined the company, but I would prefer to be 100% project focused at this point. Recently I have been doing minimal support at the managed services team seems to be hiring more experienced level engineers that can do higher level trouble shooting. I hope this trend continues.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to hire more experienced support engineers in managed services to let the other engineers focus on projects.

    Pros

A great company to start your career and end your career. Great culture only if the CEO likes you.

    Cons

There is zero career advancements once you have been with the company for more than 3 years, and there is not a set structure for performance reviews or salary reviews.
The CEO and Management will typically let you go on the same day you resign without paying you. Do not give them a two weeks notice.

    Pros

Team was friendly, most people are professional and willing to help.

    Cons

No job security, people walk around with a bullseye on back.Senior Mgmt is unprofessional, arrogant. and rude.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop the morning role call. This is not high school where you get detention if you are late or call in sick. Focus on peoples careers and don't just look to lay off if the business cycle slows suddenly.

    Pros

recent pumping for obtaining certifications. a few good middle management.

    Cons

sub par benefits, same day termination, company does not generate enough sustainable business, sales dept is almost non existent and depends on project managers to bring in opportunities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

management shows little professionalism. do what it takes to support all areas of the company and grow. stop smoking in the fire stairwell exits.

Want to work weekends? This is the place for you!

    Pros

They pay you. Most of the people are nice and fun to work with.

    Cons

Often seemed more concerned about the dress code than actual professionalism. Push for everyone to get certified, but no support to do so. Often felt like a fraternity or boys' club. Sales personnel went through a revolving door. Bonuses and raises tied to overtime amounts and committee membership. Mandatory twice annual status meeting, after hours, and far from office. Insulting vacation/sick day policies. Smokers often smoked on the fire escape with no repercussions. Most of revenue based on weekend data center and trading desk moves.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Worry less if people are dressed appropriately and be more concerned with retaining good people. Pay people what they're worth, instead of forcing them into weekend overtime to make a living. Stop micromanaging. Treat employees like professionals instead of just calling them one.

    Pros

Good people that work here and hours aren't bad. Office is flexible and you will get to see a lot of different office space scattered across the east coast.

    Cons

upward movement seems slow and not very rewarding. Work comes in spurts, spend decent amount of time doing nothing. Company also seems too content

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think the company has to think bigger. Technology is so important to the future and even though Align doesn't have the name of an IBM or DELL or other IT companies, it has the ability to take advantage of Boutique markets

Align needs to Re-Align company focus

    • Comp & Benefits
    • Work/Life Balance
    • Senior Management
    • Career Opportunities
    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Compared to similar IT business solution companies, decent benefit (not good enough benefit compared to other companies). Employees are encouraged to get professional or industry-standard certifications. Small company with close relationship and open communication between employees. Good middle management. Company owner cares of employee's well-being.

    Cons

Senior management does not have intimate relationship with clients or with potential clients, which leads to missed opportunities. Senior management gets anxious with less projects and more bills. No team or group member lead to coordinate internal communication. Little to no communication between employees handling multiple projects simultaneously. Less-intensive hiring process which leads only to attract little-to-no-potential employees. Every employee is "forced" to generate more sales or is shown the door. Expects employees to work at least 10 hour a day including weekends. Decides to take clients in certain industries or areas hoping to save on taxes, only resulting to have additional costs with little to no benefit. Decides to lose or "force" to lose senior technical employees hoping to save costs only to lead confusions and frictions between less-technical employees with overload of work and projects.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Company needs to focus on potential industry sectors. Hire senior management that have intimate relationship with clients or potential clients and have abilities to generate more sales. Review existing senior management ability and leadership. Improve hiring process to attract highly-potential sale forces. Improve employee skill development based on tangible metrics.
