TV side has been sold to another company - closing in early 2014 so not sure what work environment will be after that. Was family owned

I worked at Allbritton Communications full-time

    Pros

Nothing specific. A job is a job, nothing more, nothing less. Unless you're an anchor, don't bother looking for career opportunities.

    Cons

12 hour shifts, oppressive workload, dated hardware, low wages. Practices collective punishment for the mistake of one department member, probably as an excuse to terminate employees with no notice.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Delegate assignments to the department that should be managing them, not the lowest paid employees in the station.

I have been working at Allbritton Communications full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

I worked with awesome people and was always one step ahead of everyone else because I knew what was going on that day.

    Cons

The work is boring. I found myself so bored I would practically fall asleep at the teleprompter. There was also no professional development available. There were cliques among the staff and they kept everyone in their proper place.

Everybody in management was knowledgable and very approachable. Overall - a very good place to work. We all worked hard, but it was worth it.

    Cons

Some corporate policies seemed a bit odd at at times, but nothing that should cause concerns for anyone considering employment.
