Pros
A mission driven organization with a strong committment to the community.
Cons
At times there is delay in executing much needed actions to get the results needed.
Advice to Senior Management
Run the business more like a for profit organization.
Pros
"small enough to care"
prime location for growth in community
nurses are heard, but slow response time
CEO is a nurse (long ago) - who is really good at NOT answering anything and talking around issues.
Cons
land locked - no competition for employment unless you're willing to drive which decreases $ and the management's need to care what employees think
supervisors and management are stagnant or black and white
little growth opportunities
don't say anything to upper level about dissatifaction/issues because you'll be bullied, demoted or ignored
Professional practice model for nurses in place, but SLOW to make decisions or roll out ideas
Advice to Senior Management
Grow
Make this a place people never want to leave
LISTEN - you have professional practice model, but it needs revamped to move faster
Quit making committees regarding committees - ACT
Shake up the top. Way too many chiefs and not enough indians.
Pros
Community hospital, mission oriented, strong CEO visibility, focus on communications
Cons
Low tolerance for recovering from a mistake; which leads to a fear of taking risks.
Advice to Senior Management
challenge to have a life outside of Allegiance Health
