I worked at Allegiant Travel full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Benefits, most people are pleasant to work with, work from home days.

    Cons

You have to work with contractors on the other side of the world. As a developer you are too restricted to get anything done. Management doesn't know who's doing what, or even what's going on. Multiple pms, info sec, sys engineers, ba's, contractors, qa... And more just for a simple crud app. What should take one month, has taken this company 3 years. Not enough to do.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of the contractors and have development in one location. Let the developers talk to the end user instead.

I worked at Allegiant Travel full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

It is a good starting job for someone entering aviation, 401K Match.

    Cons

The Shareholder is always number one. Unions and employee's are way down the list. Pay raises are rare and you need to make sure you ask HR if you will get one. No cost of living adjustments. The longer you work at Allegiant you are losing money.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    They would not listen.

I worked at Allegiant Travel part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

SOME mature and nice coworkers, travel benefits, ability to trade shifts, early morning shifts for those with full time jobs. Customers.

    Cons

There's a lot that needs to be worked on. Has the potential to be a great place to work if it were run LESS like a high school and MORE like a workplace. A lot of backbiting, cliques, inappropriate management/subordinate "bonds" that render effective conflict resolution pointless.

A lot of CSAs doing whatever it takes to get a "coveted" flight attendant position (mainly due to pay because these same people have the personalities of The Grumpy Cat with a labotomy). "Whatever it takes" may mean anything from tattling and brownosing, to pretending to know jobs they haven't a clue about and working 12 hours straight by picking up shifts (scheduling sucks, so the only option is to work a rooster shift or a mid shift with no overlaps-- so combining the two on any given workday results in 12-14 hours on the job).

There are "supervisors" that are nothing more than CSAs with 3 weeks more seniority. No leadership or management ability. No personality. No emotional intelligence or organizational skills. Just a mediocre title with a mega chip on their shoulders. Eye contact is a rarity.

Take the job if you don't need the pay for more than savings or paying utilities and if you need airline industry experience to be hireable elsewhere. Otherwise, keep it moving.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Grow up. Learn objectivity and organization.

    Pros

Full benefits, 402 k, travel perks, hotel perks, food, nice kitchen break rooms, barbeque area, flexible hours, modern offices , water included

    Cons

Very low salary does not match knowledge and amount of money one brings to the company with sales skills, not a typical get your foot in the door and advance within the company that only if you have a PhD you will grow.

I worked at Allegiant Travel as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

I got to do real analysis that actually changed the behavior of the company. Completed a huge analysis project and presented it to senior management. Very satisfying and worthwhile. Flight perks were awesome.

    Cons

I did not secure a position there after the internship and they don't pay all that great.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make use of the interns and try to get them a position after they graduate.
