    Pros

The mission of the company draws many interesting and enthusiastic people with a passion for what they do. It is very inspiring and you can form long lasting friendships with your teammates. For the lucky few, there is an opportunity for international travel - something everyone is excited about.

    Cons

There is little opportunity for growth, and the perk of international travel is only available to those who play the internal politics with upper management. The salaries are low, and many talented employees who are otherwise idealistic enough to tolerate this are lost in the high turnover after giving up on well-deserved promotions or being overworked without the support of upper management in giving them the tools to work more productively.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to employees and realize you have a great team, rather than be complacent that your industry will always attract young talent. Stop into the office once in a while and interact with the people working so hard to make the wheels keep turning. Realize that great ideas don't come to your door only through the people that you like.

    Pros

Like any company, AAG has its ups and downs, and strengths and weaknesses. But overall, they are tough, and have overcome many industry challenges, remaining a leader in International Recruitment. AAG has a strong, welcoming and friendly company culture - the employees become each other's comrades and family. Looking back, I regret leaving when I did. I accepted a higher paying mid-level position at a company that lacks the spirit and zest of AAG - its not easy to find! In summary: -Wonderful culture and environment. -HR actively initiating employee incentives and rewards. -INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL opportunities! (short term). - Some short term domestic travel opportunities. -Management is flexible, highly adaptable, and open to employee ideas and initiatives. -Free office yoga twice a week! -"Happy Hour" Fridays at 4pm. -Fun team outings. -Decent benefits - PTO and health insurance. -Allow employees to work remotely and have flexible schedules (within reason).

    Cons

Unfortunately, the company does have a high turnover rate. The long-term growth and earning opportunities appear slim, which affects employee retention. While I was there, the company did little to address the issues with turnover, which affected employee moral and seemed to encourage more people to "jump ship". The turnover seems to happen in waves (several people leaving at around the same time) and there is little planning put into affect when a person does leave - teammates can anticipate having their workload doubled until a replacement is hired and trained, a process that is more time consuming that it needs to be. While the company is ambitious in the objectives that it takes on - it tends to bite off more than it can chew which can be overwhelming to employees at times, especially during the "busy season" (summer).

    Advice to Management

Exercise transparency and honesty with employees about company performance and what to expect in terms of workload. Strategize to effectively deal with turnover issues - putting contingency plans into place when employees announce they are leaving. Offer career development, cross team training, growth opportunities, and incentives for loyalty.
