    Pros

    The people were open to new processes and ideas and generally very nice to work with. I worked as a full-time employee instead of on a contract basis.

    New - not that many processes in place - improving though.
    No proper HR policies
    Terrible communicaiton to immigrant workers
    Immigration policies are bad.

    Take the time to read and digest the materials, work product, output, emails, etc. that you receive from your staff, try to make those contributions a priority of your time and attention.

    Pros

    Small firm gives you the opportunity to interact with senior management (both internally and at client) from day one, and fosters a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment

    Benefits and compensation are competitive

    Wide variety of cases, lots of opportunities to learn

    Cons

    Training is almost nonexistent, if you're not a self-starter, look elsewhere or you'll drown. Seriously.

    Be prepared to cancel plans, vacations, etc. - at the associate level, you're expected to sacrifice personal life per the partners' and clients' needs

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Talk to each other more - junior staff is sometimes criticized for not being communicative enough with partners but the partners don't seem to communicate with each other much, which sort of sets that tone.
