    Pros

For those of us that worked in the Music & DVD distribution industry, it didn't get any better than working for Alliance Entertainment. The passion that everyone had for this product and industry was tremendous. You worked hard, you played hard and you got the opportunity to meet and see some of the industries "best" and "up & coming" artists in an intimate and exclusive environment.

    Cons

Company was purchased by Source Interlink. Massive layoffs were soon to follow.

    Advice to Management

Not much to say here, with the changes that this industry faced, the closures of brick & mortar retail locations, MP3 etc., the climate and practices for selling Music & DVDs changed drastically and will never be the same. Wasn't the fault of management.

    Pros

I'm really not sure what they would be at this point. I am actively looking, and just about everyone I am close to at the company is also looking. Oh, health benefits are good.

    Cons

This company was purchased by Super D in fall 2013. It has been tough for employees, we have been through several ownership changes and several rounds of layoffs. Now in a declining market we have new owners who have communicated no vision or direction for the company. People are at a loss. Everyone, even senior managers, are spending a lot of energy worrying about being let go or the company closing. It's a terrible enviornment. In addition, everyone is talking about the fact that the new owners are trying to inflate revenue by overcharging customers and other unethical practices. I am very worried, and I would recommend that other people stay away if you have another option. Also people are paid under market. All the good ones are leaving/have left. Oh, and everyone, even VPs and up, have to fill out DAILY end of day reports and send to their supervisor and cc others in their group. It is the new president's thing. It's exceptionally degrading and just spams everyone else. I am pretty sure my manager never even looked at mine, and it was just annoying having my coworker's daily logs in my inbox every day. Seriously, what kind of asinine policy is that?

    Advice to Management

I can't give them any because they already know everything.

    Pros

Awesome benefits, people who work there are sweet, weekends OFF, holiday parties

    Cons

Management is horrible, REALLY unprofessional. They do not care about their employees or don't even much want to hear what you have to say, The CEO doesn't know how to run the company, verbal abuse from one of the managers in the departments.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees, I thought this company has an "open door" policy. I have never been treated so unfair at a company in my life. I wouldn't want anyone to experience the verbal and mental abuse that I went through working here. Please pay attention to what is going on in the departments, and when the problem comes to you, don't try to brush it off onto HR for the 100th time, after they don't do anything about it ... take it into your own hands and try to resolve the problem.
