Pros
good atmoshphere, relatively laid back. lots of philanthropic activities, which employees are encouraged to participate in . Also, good exectuive mangagement
Cons
people are asked to perform more and more tasks under tight time frames. Expected to take on new repsonsibilities consistently.
Advice to Senior Management
need to recoginize employees more who are responsible for day to day tasks. Most recognition occurs for special projects, etc.
Pros
A great place to start a banking career. People working there are formerly from the Airlines industry so they are friendly and into Hospitality and service. They have great training and classes to help you find your career strengths and how you can enhance them.
An honest overall company.
Cons
It is a Credit Union so remember, these are supported by the members not the open public so the salaries will just be average or conservative to start. Most Credit Union branches are small so you have to multi-task and wear many hats.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep up the positive employee training and empowerment seminars and open-door communication. Also, giving the best rates to your member customers.
Pros
Everyone who worked there was very nice, understanding, etc. There was also some room for jumping to a different position after being there for awhile
Cons
The work weeks were pretty hectic. Not to mention, when working in a call center you often have to take saturday shifts
Advice to Senior Management
I dont really have much advice. Like i said earlier, it was overall a pretty good experience and id work there again
Pros
I was proud to be part of a company that offered such an incredible level of products and services to all of their members.
Cons
Everyone works really hard and is taxed to their limit. This environment produces a limited work/life balance for those employees who really care and want to be successful in their job.
Advice to Senior Management
They need to listen to the feedback they receive from their employees and really do something about it. Instead of eliminating the people who are in a position to identify problems and their shortcomings, which is the coverup tactic currently being used.
Pros
Alliant Credit Union is widely respected and accomplishments here are magnified due to this. The fast paced and stressful work environment guarantees success here, will be success elsewhere. The people are also extremely helpful in learning new tasks. Some managers/directors are very considerate of their employees work/life balance.
Cons
There is not a high level of respect for work life balance. It is touted by HR and senior executives but highly dependent on your manager. Most managers are required to carry Blackberries and are on call 24x7 as a result. In the past 2 years there has also been a high level of turnover at the director/manager level. Some managers/directors are not conisderate of their employees work/life balance.
Advice to Senior Management
Put some checks in place to ensure managers/directors/VPs adhere to senior direction. What the policy says is not what the manager does.
