Pros
Friendly coworkers, comfortable environment, convenient location.
Cons
No clear path to next career step
Pros
people, strength, independence, reliable, solid organization
Cons
flat organization, too many projects
Pros
The people are nice and we support each other. We want to see Allianz succeed despite the poor moral.
Cons
Management does not manage. They slink around and keep low profiles. They rule by fear and do not buck the German way.
Advice to Senior Management
Stand up for your beliefs. Management should be leaders. Germany is not god. Do not be afraid of them. BTW Wolfgang Schatz is gone.
Pros
The staff at Allianz is great. For the most part, everyone gets along well and respects one another. The benefits and pay is also pretty good.
Cons
The management at this company is a joke and the HR department is extremely unethical. Our Senior Management is arrogant and ignorant and would be unqualified for similar positions at other companies. They have been promoted just because they are yesmen and buddies with the boys in Munich. If you are a woman, do not expect to get very far. This is a German organization so if you are not a man, you are getting their coffee.
Advice to Senior Management
There is no advice to give except to replace them with qualified people who will not overspend and run the company into the ground.
As an aside, Wolfgang Schatz is no longer the CEO of this company. The new CEO is an embarrassment.
Pros
The finance organization is a very fun and close knit group. There are at least 2 full day social events per year and also quarterly meetings with a few hours of social event tossed in. The company is very stable and secure. The company is very generous with travel around the world if you want to.
Cons
There are some questionalble promotions. Since this place was basically built by poaching people from other insurance companies, they hired those who could not advance at prior firms. Thus, many of the managers, although very competent workers, are terrible managers in terms of managing, hiring the right people, organizing and delegating tasks, and fairness to all employees under their watch.
Advice to Senior Management
Management has made this a very good, fun place to work. Salarys seem competitve, and there are very often town hall and other social events. The company definately cares about its people and show it.
Pros
They treat the employees well.
Cons
Can be internally focused at times.
Advice to Senior Management
I do not have any advice for management
Pros
This company offers great benefits.
Cons
This company is the worst company to work for. They do not treat their employees with dignity and respect nor do they promote work life balance. There are no opportunities for growth within this organization, management can treat its employees bad and if employee reports this to HR nothing is done about it. There is such a hostile and stressful work environment where there are many employees that are out with illnesses contributed to the stress from this company. Unfortunately management does not care.
Advice to Senior Management
Management needs to treat its employees better by offering incentives for a job well done. This is how you get the most out of your employees and they perform better by giving quality work.
