Pros
Overall positive place to work. Some very great products. Some very creative people. CEO cares about the company. There is a smattering of very talented people.
Cons
Lack of COMMUNICATION starting at the top. No performance review process. Accountability at the executive level appears non-existent.
Advice to Senior Management
Talk to your people. Regardless of a positive or negative message, they need to hear where the company is heading ans that someone has a plan.
Pros
Allied provides a lot of flexibility in work schedule. One has a lot of latitude to work out a schedule and plan activities.
Cons
Allied does not provide a lot of feedback on how one is performing on their job and there is no formal review process.
Advice to Senior Management
Provide more communication and feedback to employees on company goals and objectives, as well as company and department performance.
Pros
Flexible work hours, standard benefits package, good location, close to restaurants, right next to public transportation (Light Rail), close to Santa Clara Convention Center, close to major freeways, close to McCarthy Ranch
Cons
Hostile environment, no raises or performance evaluations, weak corporate structure, poor communications from upper management, lack of company direction, frequent company focus changes, abuse of at-will employment policy, do not enforce corporate policies, a lot of anger, too much stress, seat of the pants operations.
Advice to Senior Management
Invest in your employees by offering more training, opportunities for education, and use a different management style (drop prod and carrot method), send managers to corporate training classes, reward employees for a job well done, enforce HR policies.
Pros
Allied Telesis is a fairly stable place to work. The work hours are reasonable, and so are the benefits. There are some nice and capable mid-level managers.
Cons
There is very little communication from the executive as to what the direction of the company is. The pay is below average. Not a place where leading edge work is done.
Advice to Senior Management
Set a clear strategic direction and communicate that clearly to the employee. Build more of a sense of community between the different development centers.
Pros
There are no reasons to work for this company. It is best to avoid. If you do come in look at two years of pure dementia. This company may have only one benefit that it would give you field experience to start a new career path.
Cons
This company has no support structures in place to facilitate each department. Also employess are extremely underpaid and do not have raises in some cases no increase in pay for 4 years. The products sold by this company are decent but everything else about are rotten. Word of advice avoid it like the plague.
Advice to Senior Management
Senior Management needs to create a support structure and path of hope for employees. They also need to provide hope of meeting objectives currently that is not there. You cannot demand with giving back. Also we need the CEO to sit down and tell us what he wants from us not a management team that keeps on changing personal and direction on a daily basis.
