    Pros

Entry level positions with no experienced required.
Top quality training programs in the security industry.
The company maintains contracts with a large number of companies, so options and locations are plentiful.

    Cons

Benefits are almost non-existent and compensation can best be described as minimal. Not only are the hourly rates extremely low, but the management will throw a fit when it comes to overtime. I've often been pressured to claim less hours than I've actually worked.

    Advice to Management

The most glaring need for improvement is the compensation and benefits you offer your employees. Allied Barton sells itself on being a top employer of veterans, but it seems as if they utilize veteran experience and leadership but don't offer competitive wages or benefits for former service members looking for careers. You cannot raise a family on the wages the company pays you, and you certainly can't count on the benefits. The health insurance is lacking and there also needs to be more training on available 401K options. If the company invests in its employees, they would have a much happier and productive workforce, but then again, it may be more fiscally beneficial to just rotate new employees every few months which is currently the case.

Also, as great as the training programs are that the company offers I feel like there should be a much bigger emphasis on management screening and training. Identifying personalities that are equipped to lead and then continual training to help those leaders achieve their potential is crucial in this industry.

    Pros

It really depends on the site. At my site, the pros are:

     - free time

     - co-workers who aren't horrible

    Cons

    At my site:

     - insulting pay

     - degrading uniform

     - disrespect from everyone

     - schedule changes week to week with pretty much no notice

     - hostile management

    Advice to Management

pay a living wage, and don't make your employees wear silly hats.

Pretty good training. You will get trained in a lot of things and possibly certifies in certain things as well.

    Cons

Management is sometimes unavailabile and seem unconcerned about the day to day operations. Employees can sometimes be hard to work with.

    Pros

-Largest Private Security Company in the United States
-They focus on identifying dedicated, hard-working employees and always look to promote from within.

    Cons

    -Benefits offered are below average.

    Advice to Management

In order to improve day-to-day operations of the company, I feel that Account Managers and Scheduling Supervisors need to more effectively communicate with their officers. They can achieve this simply by being more transparent and upfront with officers regarding their posts and scheduling.

    Pros

They'll hire anyone and overtime is almost always available if you work hard, because, again, they'll hire anyone. This results in a workforce of lazy, incompetent people who are often MIA without even calling in.

    Cons

This company is filled with people who want to take advantage of cheap labor and a poor job market. You will feel disrespected and used. I was sent home because my pants were cuffed at the bottom (professionally done), rather than a straight leg. This company presents an ILLUSION of security -- they put scarecrows at a million posts and consider that "doing the job."

    Advice to Management

    Get a clue.
